Hi Folks,
Finishing a race car and the series I am entering requires a working rear wiper.
When I bought the track car 18months ago. The rear wiring loom had been removed as had the wiper unit so I now need to wire the rear wiper to an independant feed / switch etc as it will be a nightmare...
ABS faulty. All cables, rings ok as checked by specialist. Suspected pump
2 options are:
1) To replace with non ABS Cup brakes
2) Replace faulty pump
re option 2. I can see that the brake fluid reservoir is on left hand side bulkhead, is the pump behind there as well ?
how easy to get to...
My heater / AC fan switch doesn't work on number 4.
1,2 & 3 work but when you switch to number 4 fans stops. Is it likely to be a connection issue within that switch or resister pack or something else ?
Appreciate your feedback
I have a 172 ph1 track car.
I'm getting a "boing" noise from the ABS when I come to a halt. Brakes are working fine and I'm not getting the "boing" when applying the brakes, or when in motion, just right at the end when I am almost stopped or completely stopped.
Was on track day on Friday and...
Have a sticking throttle. Replacement cable didnt fix. Have cleaned the TB thoroughly with carb cleaner.
Looks like I have a bit of lateral play in the butterfly spindle. IE moves at least 2mm left & right along the length of the spindle. Looks like the butterfly is starting to catch the side...
Ok. The TB is clean.
The replacement cable was from motor parts ditrect. It is a "first line part". All the bits looked the same as one on there previously. The old one had grey discolouration to inner nylon tube so I assumed that was crud and that was causing it to stick, so bought this one...
Car was sticking at approx 2k rev's when you put clutch in ready to downshift, so tried wd40, didnt work. So all advice suggested changing cable.
Have done that and made sure was same length as previous one. Was fine yesterday but today sticking again at 2k / 2.5k. Definately seems to be...
Thanks. Unforch the springs are pretty rusty so can't tell what rates they are, they are eibach though. I will need to take them off and have a look.
I have two rear wheel drive cars also, so front wheel drive on the track is new to me. I guess I will have a play and work out what what suits...
Got a set of Leda's on my new 172 track car.
Looking for any advice on setups for dry & wet conditions. I have the ones with the red control knobs as per below
Hi Folks, Excuse the newibie questions, but mine doesn't have anything covering the underside and the crank pully and cam belt are exposed. The concern is that a stone or something flicks up and damages the belt, then eventually, bang goes the engine. Especially as it is a track car. I can't...
Spot On ! , Thanks Alex
Ring seal had moved, conditon was ok, but I used some high temp silicon round outside of ring seal also just in case, job done ! :-)
Hi Folks,
Appreciate your thoughts on this one.
Serviced the car yesterday. new Oil, Filter & Plugs.
Completed oil & filter change, checked level, then started her up and run for a minute or so, re checked level. All fine.
Then changed the plugs. Did in sequence, one at a time, correctly...
