With much force mate. Stick it in 4th, get in the back seat and pull and twist till it come off. Then you get left with a white plastic sleeve which is glued over the stick.....this is even harder to get off. Some people hacksaw it off, I got some mole grips on it, locked it on really tight...
K, so not done much recently. Did sort out a massive gripe which has been bugging me for ages though.
I had a custom made gear knob made a while ago which wasnt meant for my car and it ended up looking like this
And 4 months later or so and i manage to machine the gear knob bolt and...
Oh right, i was under the impression the mk2 ph2 had 2 seperate clips at either side of the wheel? Only what i have heard, so just going with word of mouth
Yeah its a bit different to the mk2. Basically you have to stick a screwdriver into a hole underneath the steering wheel to unclip something....but i dont know where it is/what size it is/what kind of clip it is/ how to unclip it.....massive fail
Yeah mate, though this would be the case, i...
Think it might be time to take it to a garage. Had a go at it today, was such a pain trying to find the clip thats hidden inside the steering wheel. Im guessing renault will charge a lot for this?
Thanks for the offer mate, is a bit of a trek though :(
Just gonna have a crack at it today and see what happens, just hoping i finish the job with my face in one piece :)
You got any pics mate?
Umm i would get the renaultsport steering wheel insert which will look nice on your wheel. Wouldnt personally bother with the green lighting/sidelights though mate, looks a bit chavy....plus you will more than likely get pulled for them anyway.
What colour is it btw?
Im not personally a fan of sun strips.....just wear sunglasses :) Also, i image the sun visor clip is not meant to be loose, does it have screws/bolts to tighten it up?
Bit of a weird question but has anyone around the lincoln area have any experience removing a steering wheel on their clio? Ideally I would like to learn how to do it but would appreciate a bit of help (not confident to try it on my own with airbag etc.....not brilliant with spanners...
no lol dont just pull! For the side of the car there are a few things. For the rear quarter, get inside the rear speaker grill in the back seat and you will see some clips you can push out. The for the long bit you need to undo a screw on the door card/near the door card, then it slides out...
You will need 20mm rear spacers, they fit perfectly and tbh you probs wont need front spacers once its been lowered. Maybe you could fit 5 and poss 10 mm but there is no need really
Well maybe I over exageratted with have to lol i just find that to beat the traffic without getting up much earlier i use the empty long country roads to make up some time, hence the less than brilliant mpg.
Ive got the 2008 1.2 TCE and atm i get about 36mpg.....but as i live in the deep country side i have to rag it a little to get to work in time in the morning....but i know if i was to drive more conservatively i could get far better....which makes your 25.6 horrendous. At what RPM do you...
Just bought a new steering wheel mate and painted the interior centre console and vents. Trying to make the interior a bit snazzier. Saving up money for a house so not sure what else i will do. I have two old wheels up for sale atm so whatever money i make off them i have allowed myself to spend...
Nice one mate, glad you had it sorted out! Bet it feels much better/stable to drive now, no torque steer lol. Gonna buy my ticket this weekend, think i will be buying 1....cant imagine my girlfriend wanting to come.
Hope to see you there, grab a beer mate :)
