Most Renault DCi's have died so I'd imagine the forum has withered a little!
There are some VERY knowledgeable people on here though. Graham S and Alex W have helped me no end.
There is nothing in/on my door. Door cars off, mechanism and wiring out, all metal cut out, poly carb riveted on.
Door weighs about the same as a can of coke! Lol
I've got them on mine, massive weight saving.
The only thing I will say, they scratch very very easily. So every time you clean them you're damaging them.
My mate is in the market for a 197. He wants recaros, would prefer black and it will do 2/3 track days a year. This seems to fit the bill.
Anyone know it?

Lump of wood and a trolley jack to lift the engine a bit. (On the sump)
Make sure you un-clip the fuel lines (by the top mount) to avoid snapping any clips.
Other than that, normal tool kit.
Gearbox mount is fiddly but nothing more.
Dogbone mount is a piece of cake.
DA will be fine mate. Just use something like SRP or triple first to clean it up then work from there upwards.
I wouldn't use cutting compound or anything like that though. You never know what's been painted and by who!
That is a piss poor excuse.
Unless of course you're planning on completing on a new house purchase in the next three months? No?
Oh. So you could buy an RS3. If prices stay dormant, you're onto a winner. If they go up, double bubble.

Freshens up the back no end. Especially at night.
I just love them.
Now I work with Porsche/BMW's all day I have no desire to own anything expensive what so ever!
Give me cheap fun hatchbacks any day of the week.
I really like them. The driving position is better than a 182, the seats and steering wheel are much nicer, and out if the box they're better on track IMO.
It's a long way off yet, but it needs to be done.
Currently we have;
525i estate for the wife and kid duties. A Clio dci for work for me.
Next for the wife will be an X5 or a new shape CRV.
Next for me will hopefully be a 197.
We just both use my Clio if we're on our own/doing any running around. It's so cheap to run that it could balance out a Veyron!
Yeah Euro have fucked up my last two oil filters. One for the mini and one for the Clio. Never had an issue with them before so hoping it's a one off!
I'm back in the 6 cylinder BMW club now boyo! Feels good to be back. (The fuel consumption doesn't feel so good though...)
How did you get on with the spark plugs? I did them on my 330 E46 and one of them was a right t**t to do!
