Three days off this week! Making the most of these clear skies before we get our usual weather! I couldn't do it if I was working the next day unlike some people I know.

Milky way: Couldn't bring out the colours like I previously have...
Very nice Simon. The moon did look incredible last night. Lit the valley up though where I was shooting. Didn't even take a shot of the moon either :clown:
Opted to go somewhere else as it was still bright. Ended up in Snowdonia.
I've got some decent pictures, just editing them now. I've had...
Yeah hopefully. The house has been filled in, about 6foot of rubble now on the ground and that's one of the only walls still standing.
I'll see how I get on tonight!
Like both of those Brazo!
Nipped out earlier to scout for star photo's tonight. Didn't really work though! Ended up spotting a nice tin shed in some woods on the way to Bala though.

This is a possibility for some star...
Put together a very quick timelapse from the other nights star trails. Image quality is crap due to the free software putting it out at max 360p.
If anyone knows of any decent free software that can put timelapse together then please let me know.
Cheers.
Hi.
Just a quick question regarding video cameras.
The Mrs want's one so we can record our wedding ceremony as people say you will forget everything about the day. Also I'm sure it would be good for the future, kids, christmas etc. We have an old one but I can't be arsed transferring from...
LOL!
I actually replied yesterday on my phone but it obviously didn't post :S
I like the rabbits one (Three's a crowd) and the Star trails.
My only advice would be to shoot at a higher ISO for the stars. You'll get more in the shot that you won't notice and the cabin's would have been better...
Yeah, I'm not clued up with Nikon numbers.
The 28mm on a crop sensor will be equivalent to 44mm so not very wide.
I use a Sigma 10-20 mm and this was shot at 10mm (16mm equivalent)

Cracking lens for the money. Or you could try the Tonika 11-16 F2.8
Sigma 10-20 is a good shout for the wide angle. The 28mm might to be wide enough (is your crop?)
Would be cracking to take with you for some star shots. Plenty of dark skies there I imagine!
Cheers guys. Was proper fooked though after getting up yesterday for work at 3.30 am! Had to have a large coffee and a can of monster to keep me awake. Delayed reaction to it though and only ended up having 3 hours sleep last night! Going to be a long day!
I will be going back in the winter to...
110 x 30 second exposures, one very large coffee and 1.5 hours sleep got me this last night! Stacked using Starstax. Tweaked slightly in Lightroom.

After watching the gameplay I might have to get this.
Wasn't a massive fan of the previous couple of games though, felt they were pretty samey. Hopefully this will rekindle my love for the game though.
Popped over to Oulton Park on the weekend to catch some Formula 4 and the Radical races (SR1 cup, SR3 challenge & the Clubman's cup)
I'm not the best at panning but I was getting a bit better throughout the day. Ended up shooting full manual and underexposing due to the bright conditions...
Not long got back from a long weekend camping. Went over to Oulton Park for some Formula 4 racing on Saturday (and to watch Sir Chris Hoy drive like a nutter in his new sport, the SR1 Cup) and for a few walks.
Will do another thread for Oulton park once I've sifted through the out of focus/...
Cheers guys. It was a good theme.
I'm just glad I got that shot at the beginning of the month, I had other ideas for it but never got round to doing anything.
Hopefully there will be another decent amount of entries this month with it being a theme pretty open to enterpitration (sp)
Really is a good thing for those dark cold nights!
I have tried a few of them but concentrated more on the reverse! Making paint dance and getting the shot when the paint rises off the speaker.

Will be trying more this...
WB looks better on there mate.
With LR you'll have a picker too so if you know something on your picture is white (road sign for example) it will change the settings to suit and you can just tweak them then.
Remember to shoot in RAW as you will also have all of the camera options, if you shoot...
Made an effort to use my 50mm this weekend. Pretty hard at a Downhill race but I really couldn't be arsed moving much yesterday. Think I moved back a bit to get this in frame. Any further back and I would have been sat on someones lap!

And took this this...
Great shots Tom. Look pretty sharp too for that lens.
You have much trouble with the auto focusing on there? I know last time I attempted some panning, my lens was hunting for quite a while. Got very few decent shots.
You don't even need a cracked copy tbh. Just find a copy and then look on YouTube for a serial. They all work as it doesn't connect to the net to check it unlike the other adobe programmes.
Loads of tutorials on there too but it is pretty easy to pick up.
