i went from a Trophy to an R27... handling wise the R27 is right up there with a Trophy for me, horses for courses tbh, i test drove 4 or 5 normal 197's and then an R27 before deciding to buy one.
defo worth considering trying a Cup packed 197 first IMHO :)
cracking spec... not a bad price, £6k cost to change is a bit steep but hey if you can afford it i say why not. Recaro's and cup packs will be a big difference over your current 197
a 'select' meet... sorry i didn't make it along guys... will organise the next meet soon and hopefully it'll be warmer. our house is starting to take shape so no excuses to bail out!
nice that you made it along Marc, hopefully you got a warm welcome - sounds like you did :)
crap time of year to be selling still unfortunately Lewis, hang with it til the market picks up and then go for it... all the time you're not using though the mileage isn't creeping up which puts some people off - 100k is a magical barrier
Cup is faster than a Trophy, it said so in Evo magazine... Evo magazine is the equivalent of the motoring bible, therefore the Cup must be better? Surely :rasp:
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
looks like you hve a very good idea of where you want to take this project, some good progress too so far :D
will a silver bumper reappear on the back of it? (if it hasnt already)
Get it for sub £6500 and you've done well... you need to find out whether the 36k service has yet been done - it's an expensive one from Renault as the aux belt needs doing. easily going to cost you £450 if you take it to Renault to do
my only concern with the Meriva is the narrow wheelbase and top heavyness they have... never seen a VXR version on the road yet!
i guess everyone has to become sensible at some stage in life... wouldn't have been my choice tbh but then life'd be boring if we all liked the same things!
Blackrat230 (registered on here but very active on meganesport.net) knows the owner well.
i spoke to the owner briefly at FCS, car there looked immaculate and the owner seemed an enthusiast
horses for courses... the R26 is a great car, enough to tempt me into ordering one as a replacement for my old Trophy... however i have the R27 and don't regret it.... n/a and great fun, lacking ever so slightly in power on the Meggy, but still a great handling fun car.
Sh33n on here has an...
i bet that clutch control is fun in that car then...
Pupil to examiner 'this model comes with kangarooing as standard, nothing to do with my poor clutch control' ;)
