Haha no buddy i will def drop the subframe to try that method as I have not done it that way before.
Only prob is if one of the captive nuts start spinning... Good advise above regarding spanner. Had a nose around today and can see the inside access point.
To be honest the chassis rails was not the prob, it was the loom and pipe work that kept springing back. Anyway looks like im going to be doing it all again soon to replace the clutch humph!!!
You can hear two noises, one does sounds a bit like a dephaser, but then the knocking starts, and its this im guessing is the bearing being spun.
Wishful thinking if anything else, Iv just done a engine due to worn rings, find a cheap second hand engine with a good history, will be cheaper than...
Nice one James, you could build another Clio with all those spares ;) I have a small selection building up now too, better to be safe than sorry I guess.

Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
Would love to, but unfortunately i'm working that weekend, no way getting cover for work (as iv already tried)!!!!
I used these filters in my B7 RS4 for nearly 5 years, totally recommend them, however I have never used one in a Clio, cant see it being different, as long as they are maintained correctly.
Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
Thanks Lee, hows your Cup doing, is it finished yet? Will you be at Spa in October?
Cheers Tony, yep, there are a few variables that's going against me at the moment, but Cadwell is the the date. It will be my first ever race, so excited about that. Im...
