You can keep up with anything if its driving slow enough. But trying to find out what you can keep up with almost means certain death or really bad hurt. Stick a top driver in a car half as quick as 172 and I expect you'll be eating ditch before you catch him up.

Well, heres the story... Took it for the wheel bearing, they rang and said he needed new disks and pads all round as they were very worn. He then points out that he had a service/MOT less than 600 miles ago and Rears were 40% worn, Fronts 70%. At this point they said well thy are worn do you...

Quick question please... Can someone tell me what needs changing if the rear wheel bearing goes on a 172? Is it just the wheel bearing or more? Renault have done some work on my Dads car and I think they are trying to cover their arses. Cheers.

The Vee Ph1 is 2 years or 12K, mines had 4 in 6 six years including the major service which isn't needed yet.

Get the water pump done when you get the cambelt done, if that goes its a huge amount of labour so may aswell get it done whilst the engines out. I also had the clutch done for peace of mind to save on a few quids labour whilst the thing was apart.

All done and fixed, tensioner and the power steering pump. Good value aswell. I'm a happy happy boy now its tucked away in the garage:D
