The series I race in does not allow turbo's so the car seemed a a good buy she has done well on first race qua 17 out of 32 and finished 15th with a lot fast more modern compition but to have a chance against inergra and zr's need some more power
Considering options ito improve my race car currently fitted with 1.8 16V engine on webbers.
Looks like I can get a 172 engine for less than head porting and cams for mine.
New to renaults so the following questions;
Same gearbox? Same flywheel clutch? Are they interchangeable?

I am not after a bent one, just a garage that can cope with lowered car and that may have seen a race rally car before.
Took to my local place and said no chance as not havingseat belts? I have always thought 6 point msa aproved harness should be ok
My fellow racer is building a 182 race car from a standard road car after removing all carpet underlay and sound deading pads in car and interior the standard engine and standard exhaust induction system sounds very good.
Older cars will sound better because less Euro crud rules on sound...

I am new to renaults but all rover did to turn the vvc engine from 143bhp to 160bhp was skim the head to up compression used tricut valves and remapped ecu and a 3mm larger throttle body.
Remapping makes a hugh differnce, cheap after market kits should be about soon, £500 spent with...

The clio would fit well, one of the ZR's is a 190 spec the other is 160, the protons are ex works cars as is the CRX and are quick.

Lots of Nissan toys to help with the modern stuff, we do some work for Nissan and the head office is shared as is development as it technology and the tuners seem to get results.

the standard dodge was buy a metro gti £500 quid with an mot (1.4 105bhp)
buy a vvc engine from mgf and wiring harness (£3-800) 143 bhp
swap flywheels from 1.4 to vvc engine refit splice in car loom to new ecu...
