Just done a probably 40 mile round trip. Feels fine. Pulls well. Bit janky on idle but that's to be expected. Flashing light came on only at junctions or lights.
I'll switch them out for the used ones and go from there. Thanks lads. Really appreciate it!
Anyway. After that very large segway, I am now going to continue chasing the misfire.
One very strange thing is that the car doesnt throw a code or EML when under load. Only when idling does the car misfire. This has scrambled my brain slightly as if it was an injector, surely it would be...
It really is a tempremental little cow. Its been fine up until recently. Never had these issues before in my now nearly 12 month ownership. Strange isnt it. When it rains it pours I assume!
I agree. Must be wiring. But what the hell!
All I have done is undo that white connector and put it back again. Its unlikely I have dislodged anything.
SO. Its now like a battlefield on the dash. We have the following ON that wont go off (still not starting): STOP, Immobiliser light, SERV, ABS, Battery, Oil and Handbrake (that is on so probably disregard).
yay.
Ill go check now.
On a side note, could it be crank position sensor? The more I read about this, the more it makes sense. People have mentioned wiggling the cable when the car wont start. Yesterday, going along a very bumpy road the engine just cut out. Started right back up. Might be adding 2...
Mine still wont start. Any helps lads? Cranks a few times then cuts off itself. I have to turn the key fully back then fully forward for it even to crank.
Yeah, had it off, gave it a good blast and then WD.
The car did this the other day randomly before I put it on the ramps in my garage. Just wouldnt start. Then, out of the blue it decided to do it
You've both said different things!
The inside "white connector" is the one above where the passengers feet would go.
The engine bay I cant sort today as I should be working!
Maybe later I should swap out cylinder 2 injector with a spare I have?
There is also a mysterious plug that has nothing attached. Could that be related?
Also, for clarification, we are talking about the white plug pictured?
I wonder if, being that this is a second car and can be left sitting for a while, condensation has got into that connector?
I will literally go and grab the spray now. Report back soon.
Thats bizarre. Do you know what that conector is actually for? Must be for something regarding running otherwise why would it work. I dunno, these french baguettes blow my mind sometimes.
This is the first i've heard of anything like this but for the effort, I will definitely give it a go!
Would electrical contact cleaner spray be better than wd40? I have both (cos im fancy).
When you say you gave the fuse box a good clean out, did you pull each fuse and give it a bit of a...
In the interests of anyone finding this thread in the years to come - I lied. Im sorry.
The fault has continued, it just took me a little while to realise. The cars been off the road for a while because it failed its MOT. So, I have sorted it out, but the misfire remains.
Heres where im at...
I've literally been waiting for someone to recommend this instead of me. I recommend it to everyone I know and it was getting a bit embarrassing. Felt like the 'do you work for Carpro' questions were coming 😂.
Jokes aside its genius stuff. £20 for a litre and I've not even used 1/5th in 3...
That's what I was thinking. I'm gonna give it a go with a medium pad and go from there. If I dont get the results I want, I'll up the pad. If I still dont get results then I'll look for another compound.
As a general rule of thumb, how many passes to people make before assessing correction? If...
