    ESP

It does actually apply the brakes itself! Well it certainly does in my 182, if I provoke the car into lift off oversteer on a wet roundabout the ESP will apply a front brake in the direction the car is sliding and very effectively bring the car back in line without me going near the brake pedal...

    Tramlining and torquesteer

Interesting I have notice a drone that I think might be a wheel bearing on the way out but it sounded like it was coming from the rear, I will have a check and see if there is any play this weekend was it easy to spot the play in yours?

    Tramlining and torquesteer

The other trackrod had no play in granted it's not brand new but its hardly going to have enough effect to make the car do what it's doing. You implied that the torque steer issues were due to poor throttle control which from a standstill in 1st or at 50mph in 5th is not case as you yourself...

    Tramlining and torquesteer

Ah yes, this will help with the tramlining at 50mph with a small throttle application. Yes it was so I don't think it's the trackrods although I read the inner ones can go too?

    Tramlining and torquesteer

My 182 seems to be tramlining quite badly to the right, it tries to pull itself to the other side of the road if you get near the white lines. Also the otherday I gave it a bootfull in first gear and it torqued steered quite violently to the right again I assume it was tramlining and it got...

    Earths...

Where are the main earths on 182's? I have a problem when I use the brakes, indicate or engage reverse the sidelight light on the dashboard lights up (it even flashes with the indicators). It's never actually worked but the sidelights have so I never bothered investigating it but now it's...

    Water pump labour

I did think it was abit steep I'm wondering whether they had problems with sheared bolts etc I've had lots of work done by them before and I've never had reason not to trust them I'll have to have a chat with them. The cambelt itself has been done properly.

    Water pump labour

Just had my bill from the garage for cambelt kit and service etc I had done. When they were doing it they noticed the water pump was leaking so they replaced that too fair enough. But on the bill they have charged me 4 hours labour on top of the 6 hours for the cambelt itself which seems a bit...

    Exhaust hanger mod in situ

Good stuff! I'll give it a go at the weekend if the weathers good. Does it seem like the exhaust is nice and secure? in particular side to side as my mounts aren't actually sagging to bad they just allow the exhaust to move side to side so much the right back box hits the metal of the mount.

    Exhaust hanger mod in situ

I might give them a soak in plus gas everyday until Saturday when I'm going to do them and see if they budge then, if they don't I'll just have to manage!

    Exhaust hanger mod in situ

Yup Stanley knife, pliers anything really doesn't matter what state it comes out in!

    Exhaust hanger mod in situ

I'm hoping to leave the exhaust as it is and press then new mount into the square housing and onto the hanger simultaneously.

    Exhaust hanger mod in situ

I think I will attempt it in situ then I should hopefully be able to press the new one in with some big pliers! Will let you know how it goes.

    Exhaust hanger mod in situ

My exhaust is banging the knackered old mounts have so much flex in that one of the rear silencers can hit on the metal bit of the rear hanger and bang. I want to do the exhaust mod using the powerflex mounts like this...

Is my engine on its way out?

It sounds like a head gasket to me the code is probably just a result of it burning oil I'd advise you to stop driving it and get it to a garage the more you drive it the more likely you are to more damage.

Silver Clio 172 A65 Near Kirkby Lonsdale

Passed going the other way a couple of times, I'm in a silver 182 it's funny watching your head follow my car as you go past realising it's a sport and I think I do exactly the same to you!

    Steering rack play

Anyone have any ideas? Some research has suggested that my problem might lie with something like a worn ball joint, I guess this seems more likely as the rack mounts are very new.

    Steering rack play

A few months ago I had the steering rack mounts replaced on my 182 I knew something was wrong as the steering was awful, me and my Father found that it was the steering rack bushes by having one person in the car rocking the steering wheel and the other with a torch looking down the back of the...

    Standard exhaust mounts

I think I'm just going to take it to the local exhaust place with all the bits and ask them to fit it on the ramps.

    Standard exhaust mounts

Not what I wanted to hear :( I thought the weld on the cat looked original. Can anyone else confirm that it is indeed sleeved.

    Standard exhaust mounts

Apologies for bumping this again, just been looking under the car and seen that the aftermarket exhaust is connected to the cat like this; Is this sleeved or is the standard flange still likely to be under there for an oem section to be fitted too? Thanks for the help!

    Standard exhaust mounts

I've just bought an OEM exhaust that has all the standard mounting points. The current exhaust uses none of the standard mounts so I need to find out what they were like. For starters the rear most two mounts near the tailpipers are still there so that is fine I can use them. The next mounts...

    Suspension not what I expected

I didn't say that it scrapes under braking, it can sometimes scrape when heading over the humpback bridges around where I live, I'm not launching it over them at stupid speeds but the front can feel soft and the rear bouncy andnit doesn't feel right. I take your point about it having the...

    Suspension not what I expected

The springs are standard the car is non cupped, I have done a bounce test and the front still seems fairly firm and there is no bouncing at all, rear the same I should hope so considering the dampers are only months old
  28. A

    Suspension not what I expected

Hmm Sounds like the front end could do with a refresh but I don't understand why the rear end is as bouncy as it is when i've already refreshed the dampers

    Suspension not what I expected

I'd wanted a Clio sport for ages finally got one in may and I have to say most of the time the handling is stunning the steering and the way you can chuck the car about is brilliant fun. But the suspension and damping isn't what I expected, not long after buying it I found I had a bust rear...

    Why isn't this working?

I bought a tuner list with the intention of using the connects2 box I already have with it to get an aux connection through the CD autochanger socket on the back. The plug goes in fine; Although I haven't found anywhere to mount the brown wire, but it worked without this being screwed in on...
