You'd lose. Once this reaches another 5 pages of outcry I might be arsed enough to edit together how law abiding I was for the 3+ miles of 30/40 limit beforehand with the FRS stuck up my rear.
I did nothing whatsoever to provoke him.
Call the cops then?
Are me and Slammed172 really alone in thinking the RS driver was a complete and utter tool?
Can anyone say 'hazard perception'? No one else think that on any other day that could have been the end of that Focus?
Edit: and philmots.
I caught a FRS...he undertook myself and the next 3 or 4 cars ahead of me as we joined a 2 lane DC...and almost got side swiped by the one ahead of me in the process.
Proper tool...with a point to prove that I can't quite figure out.
The point being made is that the Fiesta ST (or any boosted car really) is a far easier car to make progress in.
It doesn't require you to be in race mode.
It doesn't require you to wring it out to the limiter to get moving.
It doesn't require 3 down-shifts before an overtake.
I know this...
Yes a NA 200 is asthmatic (I've always said that throughout the 30k miles I've driven in one). They get going really well but only once you've wound on 5k rpm...up until that point, pretty much any DERV rep-mobile would/could destroy one. That's the point I'm making.
You don't think that...
Decent vids? Not sure if SRS.
I've filmed my commute the last couple of days but captured nothing worth spending the time editing.
I do have some in gear runs which I might overlay against the ones I did a while back in my 200...should illustrate how asthmatic the NA engines really are.
Not yet. Just clicked over 1,000 miles in the last couple of days, will be up to approx 2,500 early in August when I get to boot it around Goodwood...can't wait for that.
My mixed driving isn't really typical as I spend my entire life plodding (and sometimes flying) along minor A and B...
I'm hoping they'll be no tortue at all. There should be comfort that the little extra the Clio RS gives isn't worth the £3.5k ish extra Renault wanted for it.
Renault and their useless launch of (and apparent failure to deliver) what should have been a ground breaking car. That and Chris Harris' first drive comments about the ST on twitter were enough to convince me to jump ship.
Check the tyre pressures when you get it...experience of a lot of owners is that they come with about 8-10 psi too much in the rear.
Then go and find a large clear-sighted wide empty roundabout and try and get it moving about :D
Doubtful...I wasn't really going for a full-on launch and was quite laid back with the gear changes. I think 100 came up in approx. 18 seconds which sounds about right to me.
LOL at wife liked it. Mine hates it with a passion. Today was the first time in 900 miles she's even so much as sat in it.
I know what you mean about the coloured non-diffuser looking odd...they should have given it a proper one or not bothered...and body coloured as it is just looks wrong.
It's induction noise direct from the inlet manifold but it's amplified through a membrane before being routed into the cabin.
LOL...I remember seeing you...it's black right...and a little grubby? Is the boot/tailgate one complete piece of glass? That's what I was thinking as I went past...I've...
Doesn't sound quite like that in real life...I had the microphone clipped to the top edge of the passenger floormat to try and capture wherever it is the sound is piped in.
As Jaff says, once you hear it first hand it makes sense.
900 miles in now so thought I'd give it a bit of a session...
Economy is improving as the mileage increases, I brimmed the tank tonight after 130 miles of driving like a granny followed by 30 miles of flat out idiocy and managed 42mpg.
It still feels a bit tight up top...as the torque tails...
In 9 out of 10 driving situations, yes, it would leave my 200 for dust. It would be gone before I'd even thought about dropping the required 3 cogs in my 200 to get access of some of its hidden torque.
Now on a track would be a different story as both motors are permanently in the sweet spot...
Spirit Blue? ;)
Yes on the black...Panther metallic, my mate is about to order an ST-2 in black + style kit, Tried to get him to leave the style pack off for maximum stealth but it's still free of charge at the moment so he's having it.
1st week of July is good...my original ETA had slipped back to 15th July.
It's well worth the wait, I can't wait for you to get yours then at least someone else will understand when I try and get across how 'right' it all feels.
It's simply because of the torque...with pretty much all 214lbft available at a little over 2k rpm. In the 200 I could make similar progress but had to wring it out between 5-7k rpm...so it always felt like it was a massive effort. In the ST it's no effort. At all.
It's now feeling like it's...
