Probably, is their a 'drugz, thugz & lowz' scene?
Although judging by the angle he's at, perhaps he's just 'badparking', thats another one apparently.
Jon's old one has gone in a better direction tbh, bar the poverty spec seats.
I think we should do a list for next week, although im still well up for meeting up after work tomorrow, sorting a few bits out with clio at Mike's, then going to the pub for dinner ;)
As such, next Tuesday 26th April, 9-10pm:
1. Vish
2. Dave
3. Ollie
Generally, that does happen, but there is the odd week where 6 people turn up & i only get £18, this isnt the end of the world as other times, more people turn up & it evens out.
What does grate my bones though is people playing football & not paying for it. I dont mind an IOU from some...
I havent booked it yet, as tbh we need to have a bit of a re-group. Every week it costs me money & not enough people turn up.
6-8 people is cr4p.
So lets start a list for next week, and if it gets over 8 ill book it.
1. Vish
2. Dave
Difficult one really, Expert is alot easier to get in & out of - especially as i sit so close to the wheel - but Futura is a lot more supportive.
For a daily i think the Futura would get on my tits ...
Hmm, looking at that, i think i would have waited a little more & just bought a Sport.
Especially if you're going to make it into a rep, on reps, anyway!!
My old one, now owned by a stance monkey, looks epic & was featured last month:
Recaro_182 (chris) has them on his ph1, so might be worth a pm.
As far as i am aware, they are very similar compound to R888, but with more tread, so when it heats up (which it does fairly quickly being so soft), the tread moves around a wee bit.
Im not really sure tbh, dont have many problems with the brakes (DS2500's, no arch liners/fog lights) and tyres ae normally ok (have R888's to play with now as well), but having spent so much on the engine latelyl, i'd like to offer it as much protection as possible really - but dont know if...
Just pondering the next thing to buy for the Trophy really.
Will probably be doing another oil change before the next trackday, so thinking that whilst everything is apart, it might be worth bunging a Mocal Oil Cooler on there - anything to further helpthe car survive really.
Would get a...
Personally, i've always had my 1*2 belts done at 60k, or 4 years old ... barring the Trophy, which (without me realising) went from 72k to 174k (over 4 years) without a cambelt change :o
Oopsy.
How the hell?!! And yes, the black one went straight into the car park lol...
I can understand going off at Paddock, but they hadnt even got all the way down the main straight!!
Wasnt their another big crash earlier on in the race as well?
Compared to what, a diesel moped?
My Trophy gives 35mpg day to day, 30 thrashing & 25 on track. Better than my old vts/106 gti's anyhow. Compared to them though, better built, comfier, harder to work on, more expensive to fix/modify. However, the prices of the latter are dropping as more...
lol. Grumpy Ollie. I'll probably have a race car before you do ..... ;)
Re: the Quaife though. Perhaps im odd in thinking this, but if i was building something to compete in, i'd buy a decent diff pretty much before anything else!! Whats the point in having the power of ITB's and cams and...
I owned one (well its in bits now) with 195bhp on Jenveys/Omex. If it was that amazing, it would have been put on the Trophy ....
To me, a clio is good when its a cheap/fun car, start chucking thousands at it & you might as well just buy a cheaper/faster car in the 1st place imho.
Fletch, to be perfectly honest, if you're building the clio solely to be a bit of fun/track toy, dont bother with ITB's.
They really arent worth the money imho, £2.5k for 15bhp and some noise. Sod that lol.
That's a roll cage, another seat, & a lot of trackdays ;)
If you look closely at picture 2, you can even see 'FailSport' ingrained in the boot .
Normally this would have been funny, but it has actually scratched into the paint quite deeply :(
