Randomly, i can add to this, met these on holiday, half way up a mountain in the Alps. Yup, they looked cute.
Until they got angry, invited all their mates round & decided to amble towards us. A clio does about 30mph in reverse btw.
Its not too bad: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?552996-JMS-Air-Con-Removal-Package-(PH2-RS)
Would have been considerably cheaper to do when you were having the cambelt re-done anyway though. Doh :dapprove:
Best engine mod i've made by a long shot.
For those that do track days (not many people on here), there is an old lady who does them, in an R26.R.
She gets in the way, but its nice to see that she's still into driving.
Glad to see its all sorted at last!! Albeit with a few surprises along the way for good measure :o
Car will be fantastic to drive now i bet, like the difference i felt after my work, but with an additional 20bhp lol. Glad the filter of death is going though, the state of the trumpets on...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
I'm not going to disagree tbh.
Cleeeeeeean meeeeeee :dead:
Although, to be fair, its no worse than the other two dirty f*ckers.
IR showoff.
What would need to be done for this to work exactly?
Can the actual suspension components be machined so that the different hub spacing can be accomodated?
For example, if you really wanted to fit Bilstein's, KW's, or FK Konigsports coilovers (normal 1*2 fitment only), to a Trophy...
Currently i cant be bothered to strip the clio, partly as i have to leave it outside (condensation on the inside of the car FTL!) and it would mess the suspension up - i have Trophy Sachs and cant adjust them/lower them enough to counteract the lack of weight.
In the future though, with a...
The most expensive one isnt always the best btw ;)
Personally, i buy a cheaper one, say £3.5k that needed the belts doing, then take it to someone you trust to do all the major work - then you know its been done properly!!
Why the big thing about mileage? If its been serviced on time/belts done etc, i'd be more interested in price/condition, etc.
They're in Bristol, he should take Daniel!! Or at least pm him for info on the dealer ...
No mention of cambelt in the ad either: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201115384530503/sort/priceasc/usedcars/seller-type/trade_adverts/price-to/5000/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/colour/blue/price-from/4000/model/clio/make/renault/page/2/radius/1501/postcode/rg213eu?logcode=p
Also, if you have access to a diagnostic tool, like VAG-COM ask the seller if you can test the car for faults ...
Then, when they're not looking, turn all the warning lights on*
* Note, i dont recommend you do this, it would be unethical
Also, set a price in your mind before you go, if you dont get to it, be prepared to walk away.
9 times out of 10, you'll get a phone call 15 minutes later, so just go sit in the car round the corner.
Find all the faults, make an offer after listing them all.
Handy Hint - if they dont look offended/tell you to f*ck off, you've havent offered low enough.
Once they have calmed down, start negotiating from there.
