Hi Guys,
Had a little trouble reversing my 172 onto ramps today, kept sliding etc..

I'm going to buy some of these, has anyone...
My friends did this the other day, on the way home, parked up and then oil was all over the road.
Turned out the pumps shaft seal had broken, so new pump and everything is fine now.
Check if there is oil over the tensioner/alternator pulleys and belt, if not check the high pressure(metal...
Did you get the supersport or sport?
How does it feel with the engine? My pattern original exhaust for the 172 is annoying me and I'm not sure if it feels restrictive.
Is it just me or does the second half of the needle go down much quicker than the first? I have 1 bar left, but my trip still says I have 131 miles left at 38mpg average, anyone else get this?
I think K&N air filters can be serviced using a kit they sell. No need to buy a new one, just buy the cleaning kit. Quote me if I'm wrong though other people.
I'm not sure he'd of replaced the idler and tensioner if you just supplied the belt? A bit silly maybe but I'd ring them tomorrow and check, if not, get some new ones put on! :)
The belt can't be set apart from its set ribs on the pulleys surely? Unless I've done it wrong before!
Put the belt on the right way? or the tensioner? Surely there is only one way to put it on...:/
I'd say take a look at the belt now in the car park or whatever, make sure it's on correctly...
My friends PAS pump went the day after his cambelt and aux belt were done. Had to be replaced. It's more of a whine than a squeal or squeak with the PAS pump.
You can see if the belt is on correctly too, have a look to the right of the belt, is it sitting fully on the tensioner?
Perfect, the burn doesn't finish resulting in the excess mixture burning inside the exhaust system.
Thinking about it and repeating what you've said, it's a horrible way for an engine to run.
Thanks man!
So it compresses the mixture, and sparks at TDC/start of the down stroke. I'm suprised that doesn't burn the mixture anyway and just create exhaust gases. I suppose that's why timing is so critical.
Thanks again Chip.
I understand, thanks for the explanation!
Edit: one more question, When you say r****d the timing does it just delay the spark untill after the exhaust stroke?
It's a diesel, it has a lot of torque and if it's been remapped then they pull impressive performance. Take him to the twistys though and show him who's boss.
