Just got a 172 with a standard exhaust, but how low do they sit? I can see it when I look behind the car. I'll get a picture but just wondering if others could give me an insight:) Also how loud are the standard exhausts suppose to be? Mine gives quite a nice growl.

He hasn't shut down I don't think, his office phone is mega quiet and he doesn't often answer when he's in the garage. Keep trying I'm sure he'll answer soon enough. Try facebook, I get a reply on there normally.

Ok, So bumper off with wheel arches etc.. Follow aux belt guide until time to remove belt, undo pulley bolts. Then remove the belt and tensioner, then the alternator. Take pump off. and then in reverse order? Thanks

Are there any motor factors that sell them with the flange for the pulley already on? Looks like a low mileage good secondhand one is the best solution for me. Is there any danger in leaving it for a month or so as I need to wait for another bank holiday weekend?

Yeah I think I'll buy a second hand pump and a full aux belt kit including tensioner. Do you think it'll be ok to leave until maybe the next few bank holidays?

Aux belt was replaced with the alternator at the end og last year by Mick at diamond motors. When removing the poss aircon pump and the pas pump do I need to drain anything or keep anything in sync etc.. ? Maybe I'll buy a good second hand one as the new ones are expensive from Renault...

I think people forget the efficiency to power ratio on these engines. You couldn't be more right.
