I've just got a clio 172 and have been getting 160-180 miles per half tank. I think that's quite good tbh, it's not been too far off my 1.4. Going from a 1.4 to 2.0 has increased the fuel price by 5-10 pounds a week. I can deal with that! And that's vpowazzz.
Often see my mpg in the 40's. Must...

Pretty sure this is the one, you have to cut the ends off, but wait for others to confirm it.
It's the fact that the end of the exhaust arm has a huge nub that is massive compared the rubber hole that it goes through. Normally exhausts have a bolt screw on to keep it in place.

I bought this one as it was recommended by others on the forum. It's a genuine re-con with warranty so I'm going request a replacement.
For the mean time I spaced the pulley out with washers and its now...
Looks like my pas pump is slightly misaligned. I thougt they were all pressed to the same distance? Am i able to space it with washers untill I get a new pas pump as this one has warranty.
Will the AA recover it even if it's running and working? It'd be an hour round trip to get all the tools put them in a car before I could even do them in the work car park. The auxbelt is sitting on the tensioner fully and hasn't moved since driving to work this morning. Stuck on what to do.
I'm going to have to drive it to my friends house to take it apart tonight and fix it, there is no other way. I will drive very carefully. fingers crossed :(
Hi Guys,
Replace the PAS pump and aux belt kit at the weekend, everything was fine until I just went on quite a bumpy cross country 55 mile journey. Now there is a dull knocking noise coming from the aux belt area and I'm wondering if I've done something wrong. I've taken some pictures. I've...
Oh really? Could it be a case of just tightening them up? And where can I get some replacements ones? And test I can do to confirm top mounts?
Thanks Ron!
Hi CS,
I'm getting a slight knock whenever I engage drive with gears 1, 2, and 3. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side wheel arch. I can't get the noise to replicate in 4th or 5th but maybe that's because the power isn't high enough.
It's pretty much instantaneous to when I put my...
I've just got a 172 and I can agree with you. I wasn't sure whether the brakes were sticking but the rear discs, pads, and callipers have just been replaced. It feels like it really holds back in 1st and 2nd but once you get moving it seems ok. I'm hoping it is just the lumpy cold map that...
This is the exhaust mount. Would you buy another to see if fail again? Some people say just use some pipework? And zippy ties to fix it. How do I do that and is it safe?
A little help with exhaust systems please fellas.
I bought my 172 last weekend and its got on it a recently replaced OEM backbox and centre section that every other exhaust fitting place calls the OEM exhaust from Renault (we all know it isn't the OEM exhaust). see picture below, RN903 and...
Yes definitely, make sure the service history is good and frequent. And make sure the belts are/have been done at a specialists! So many failures have been seen, and to risk it being done by a 'local' garage isn't worth it IMO.
