I'm going to get you all a slot on Jeremy Kyle. Work out the issues in between paternity tests. I'll be in the corner of one of the sofas, whimpering over shift times.
Do love that kind of silliness. More capable everywhere. But lap times near identical.
Regardless, I think there are better options out there, but if it's between the 2 I'd get a used 200 and remap the gearbox so it, you know, actually works. I'd be gutted to go from a 200t, and then try a...
The gearbox is quick. The problem is that when you pull the paddle, there's a delay. Once the delay has passed, the shift is very quick, but that delay is unacceptable.
Jump in a mk5 golf gti (10yrs old) . The shift is more responsive. That's the problem, in a nutshell. The whole point of a...
Chris is bang on. The 200t is the least focused, least RS product they've made in years. The gearbox is a massive fail, and the director of rs has admitted they've missed the target as far as the uk market is concerned, and that the gearbox is totally marmite.
Assuming I could get past the...
Ones built by Germans. One is built by the French. My 12yr old e46 felt stronger and better put together than my (then brand new) 200. That generation of clio and Meg were shoddily built. Hence the gearbox issues, window regs, etc.
Still seems to be tech that very few people have taken up. Those that don't spend much on watches seem to think it's a lot to spend on a watch. Those that are in to watches don't seem inclined to wear something that looks more like a casio than a high quality watch.
There's something to be said for a normal car that gets you to work quickly, without spilling your coffee.
Having a boot big enough for 4 dead prostitutes is a bonus too.
And residuals to boot. What it'll actually cost over 3yrs to run is the important bit imo. I'd say less than the clio once French depreciation is taken into account.
If the focus is an option, how about golf gti? Or any of the several options on the same chassis from audi/seat/skoda? Is the s1 available as a 5 door?
I bought some parts off a guy that works at Evo Magazine. He said that even the trophy isn't great, especially compared to the Fiesta /208. And that despite them saying it wasn't great, they've held back a little bit due to their good relationship with Renault.
Given that it's not anywhere...
Never tried, but according to the forums, the r56 upgrade is the only worthwhile option. For road use, the standard setup is poor, on track I think they'd be appalling!
It's the difference between what people look for when buying a car to actually live with, versus what Chris Harris etc judge a car on. As an all weather, usable performance car, I've no doubt it'll be nicer to live with than an m2 etc
I think it would bother me knowing it was reversed, but I'm not sure if notice if I didn't know (if that makes sense!)
