I have a slightly odd approach to buying cars tbh.
Normally involves setting a budget of say '4k', then buying one thats needs a bit of work for 2.5k & getting the necessary work done myself.
So given a choice of 2 x '54 plate 182s, with 60k, one at 4k and very nice, & one at 2.5k needing...

FFS. This makes me want to buy throttle bodies as well.
Oh. Wait.
;)
Genuine question, do people like these things because they themselves like them, or because they are supposed to like them & follow the herd?
Ali's old mans is awesome BTW, but as it is a period classic, not an old car, mixed with scene/modern bits.
Personally, i would have gone for Koni adjustables, with Eibach Sportlines & a Whiteline ARB.
Mind you the Ktec are really cheap iirc, so you could still add an ARB to the setup to improve it.
Why are you planning on using Ktec coilovers on a 'track car' ?
Better off using standard. Or buying something decent imho.
Either way, im sure Mike will fit them for you ;)
Sounds like a decent amount of works been put in to that!!
Only thing that amazes me is the 8 grand its cost you on top of the car
My Trophy's entire build, including the car, is a third of that lol ...
Trophy - insurance @ £375 a year, tax @ 235 a year. The just fuel as & when i take it out for a drive.
Slighthly different to last year, when i was doing 2-3k miles a month in it lol ...
Re: Wanted: Quaife / Gripper Diff
You use R888's though remember,!
I dunno, having driven an itb'd 106 gti with a quaife LSD & dog box (rallye ratios - 175bhp, & geared for 115mph. :o), id spend money on proper transmission before cams, itb's, superchargers or pretty much anything else...
Its been for sale for 25 days, that in itself would put me off.
A good 182, at that price would go quickly.
I'd go along with £3k in my pocket, & offer him £2.5k.
If he's jobless he'll be getting desperate.
Never thought i'd quote Roy, but hey ho ...
The 205 is a more pure driving experience, so for me, that wins hands down, it takes skill to master & peddle it quickly down a backroad, not via a hedge. Any f*ckwit can drive a 200 quickly.
Driving purely for fun/risk of death/hero status =...
Yor jack is cool, but my jack is better.
I have access to two of these low entry, 3 ton badboys ;)
They lift the TT high enough for me to pretty much stand under it to do the Haldex oil change lol ...
I am a dwarf mind you.
Youngsters these days
When i learnt to drive, my car had 4 gears, no abs & no safety.
If your relying on abs to survive, you need to start looking further up the road.
