Tee hee, love winding the detailing freaks up.
Posted some pics on cliotrophy.gimp the other day of it on track.
First comment:
I'd love to clean your car.
Weirdo's
Can i use anything better than mud? Currently find it stops the paint getting scratched, but leaves the pink looking slightly dull :dapprove:
Any tips. Please note, i dont like cleaning, so if there's something i can spray on the car whilst it rains, im all ears.
The car in question. As...
If its the fitment of some suspension made by a bloke, in his shed, in Basildon, im going to be upset :dapprove: Just make sure you keep the Sachs, for when the others start leaking ...
Wheels are nice, a bit 2010 imho though :rasp:
KoniSports are good (Ollie82. & Nick172Cup use them on their track cars), but the dampers are Koni anyway, so if the current Koni's arent hard enough?
I'd get Bilsteins for the Trophy if they fitted. My favourite suspension. Period.
Great out the box.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Unfortunately they dont do that type of work for the public Chris, its was umm 'a favour for a mate' .... i just thought i'd give a free plug for a good company ;) has made a massive difference to the drive of the car though, night & day in...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Collecting them on Saturday, so cheers for that ;)
Only got the one booked so far, but trying to work out what other ones im going to do at the moment, still fancy Spa ... but its a weekday which is a slight issue, ie no holiday left lol.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
OK, so last night i got the Geo done by the experts down at Panel Wise. Thanks to Ollie82. for that BTW :approve: Yes, they are a bodyshop, but when you are the authorised repairer for Lotus, Aston, Ferrari, Lamborghini & Pagani, you probably...
Why?
Do you actually think you will notice the difference between 174bhp (which it might have) and 179bhp?
You wont. Hence why i havent wasted £600 trying to achieve it :)
I still have the rear seats/belts in mine, as well as fixed bckets/harnesses, so if a passenger can get into the rear they're more than happy to use them ...
I assume you M3 was broken at the time? Never really had any issue keeping up with 1*2's in my 328i Sport, & my Z3M would tear one a new ar52hole lol, corners or no corners. Might i suggest driving lessons are a priority ;)
In all seriousness though, £4k will get you pretty much any clio...
Seems a decent enough price to me.
£3.5k inc. Recaros that are worth £700. So £2800 for a '05 plate 182 with 53k miles.
Add on the Cambelt service at £450 and you've got a decent enough car imho.
All depends on your financial position & your ability to service/pay off the outstanding debt on the clio.
I found myself in a similar position 5 years ago, big loan on 6 month old 182 (when they still cost £10k lol), doing 4k miles a month, expensive rent, huuuuge student debt, 1st job not...
'Bremboshop' - www.nextdaybrakes.com - use google FFS.
Ferodo's - which ever trader on here is cheapest, get the 565H though, not the tat that Ktec sell.
Yup, middle switch is for Le Mans, to stop which ever of you muppets is in the back messing with windows ;) And yeah, the Parrot is fantastic, gives far better sound quality than the standard BMW stereo as well lol, you'll need a SOT-060 adapter in order to connect the Parrot wiring to the BMW...
No hpi
Straight swop for an old golf
10 owners
Sounds great lol.
V5 would have told how many owners it had had before u bought it - did u not think to check?
Christ, i do full hpi checks on cars im going to break ffs.
I like this photo!!
Although i notice that 99% of your pics are always at low angles (like mine actually), is that because to get the higher ones you have to use a step ladder?
Personally, I'd much rather do a service myself as i know thats its been done properly then!! It also gives me something to do at the weekend.
In addition, unless something is specifically broken, or is particularly difficult to do, ie a cambelt, sod paying someone a few hundred quid exra for...
Re: Trying to remove a Parrot MKi kit. Need to take off some of the dash/center conso
Pull the silver strip off.
Pull the ash tray out.
Pull the stereo out.
The leads will be pushed in behind, so just wiggle stuff around & it come out.
No screws/bolts holding renault interiors together lol
Yup, you have to take the inlet manifold off, which means basically dismantling the top of the engine lol. Also, due to BMW sticking half the engine under the bulkhead for weight distribution, you have to take most of that apart as well :S
Seats are great btw, i get a bad back in shoddy cars...
Right ho, time for a little update.
On Saturday, i popped over to Sarah's parents house, complete with a big box of new parts, my toolkit, a laptop full of 'how to' guides & a huge dose of mechanical ability ...
After 5 hours, the swirl flaps were removed, the EGR valve cleaned, the...
