Essentially, the inlet manifold has little 'flaps' on it to control the length of the inlet tract on idle - for emissions purposes. Unfortunately, they have a nasty habit of breaking apart & getting eaten by the engine, resulting in terminal failure of well, pretty much everything :banghead...
Not as far as im aware, just the 1st crazy owner spent an extra £1500 on the individual paint :S

Its not that the 330ci was particularly bad on fuel (30mpg), but having to put £70 in it every 4 days was getting a little tiresome :eek:
So, research into dervs followed, & having laughed at BMW's epic lack...
Well on Saturday, after 3 months & nearly 6k miles, the 330 was collected by its new owner ....
Absolutely fantastic car that cost me nothing but petrol in the time i had it :D
Unfortunately, due to my mileage going up yet again, derv was the only real way to go for its replacement...

Get some Bimarco's, stick them on the floor - solves the awful driving position instantly!!
Gearbox, well yeah, its not amazing lol, but not the worst in the world by far ...

Whereas an intelligent person (like myself), would simply ask my parents to start a new policy, using their no-claims, then put ME as the main driver, with them as 2nd/3rd drivers.

Might have to take the grinder to the Trophy to achieve the same holey look ... either that or just nick the aerocatches off the black 182 ...
I think alot of people need to drive something powerful & RWD.
Then barrel into a corner fast, change down without heel & toe/rev matching, and see what happens...
