When I first did this a few months I took an average private sale price from Autotrader at the time, and it worked out at £5 per day since I bought it.
I've left it in at £5 per day since meaning currently my 200 is 'valued' at £8,855 - which I don't think is too optimistic.
Have just brimmed the tank, all cost data is in, so here's the usual...
Mileage continues building at a rate of 19k per annum
Fuel price has been good lately
Economy averages at 33.5 mpg although I've seen 43 once, and 40 is readily available if I can be arsed. Llandow is a little...
Nice place to sit I'm sure and does sound fantastic...but looks like the million other TTs that are out there!
They should have tried harder with the V6 to distinguish it from the rest of the range instead of the faux mesh around the pipes.
Bet it munches through the miles nicely though.
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
Have to admit I'm intrigued by them. Aim to take the new RS out on a Renaultsport day at least to see if I could ever get along with it.
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
Certainly seems to be heading that way, plus boost and smaller capacity. At this rate the 200 may well end up being THE last true 'old school' NA hatch with a manual 'box.
This is what I'm hoping. Manual in a Cup version at least surely makes sense.
Only...
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
I know an AMT 'box is better in almost every way, that's not disputed...it's the interaction that's lacking.
Clicking a button or pulling a paddle does not come close to the sensation of a perfectly rev matched downshift while braking and entering. It's a...
Really? It's PE2s I've chewed through. Road mileage and one light trackday at Llandow (2/3 of the day was wet). I will have just about scraped 10k out of them by the time I change.
Got some AD08s next so that'll be a laugh to see what they give.

Comes with 3-4m of lead so pretty much enough to route it anywhere on the car...don't use it on my phone though...gets plugged into the side of my GoPro Hero 2.
Unlikely just extending a normal mic will...
Yup, by quite a bit!
Inlet trumpet on the acoustic valve pipe - that's the noise you can hear when I let off for each shift, the valve flapping closed then open again.
Doesn't pick it up in the engine bay!
I have the Torque Android app which can do this by GPS or by linking with the bluetooth OBD reader I have...may have to have a play this weekend.
In theory yes (but only if you put your head inside the airbox).
Works well I think, wish it sounded like this from outside.
Got it back with its new front hubs today, fully aligned, feels solid. Was very fidgety before. Totally in love again.
It's no myth amongst this community, but there are others outside it not swayed by the 'it's got to have cup packs, recaros, silvervisions' approach so often blindly followed on here.
There's a market for them, they'll sell. Just not on here.
1st MOT, failed dismally.
Apart from the nail in the sidewall of a rear tyre, it's got excessive wear in one ball joint, slight wear in the other. Requires hub replacement at £200 a side plus 4.5 hrs + VAT.
Rentech Mike says he's never changed one on a 197/200.
Argued the toss with Renault UK...
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
I had 40 minutes on the phone with Renault UK yesterday, and midway through dealing with my complaint he broke off and asked my thoughts on the MkIV being 5 door only.
I told him couldn't care less about the 5 door thing, but the manual box was a deal...
If you live and drive mainly in London the ONLY thing the Cup pack will give you is;
Anthracite wheels
Red brake calipers
An unnecessarily hard ride
I came from 8 years and 130k miles in a 172 Cup to a non cup packed 200. Have given it a couple of track outings already and it copes just fine...
I'd call and arrange a meeting with the agency first of all.
If you find a reputable one, meet with them, convince them of your abilities etc. and if you tick all the right boxes you may find they'll go out of their way to place you.
I was out of work for 5 weeks last year, toured the...
