My 172 Cup was similar to f0xy, from new to 130k miles, changed oil every 6k, gave it eleventy million trackdays/sprints, all with a 7,750 rpm raised rev limit.
Was still knocking out 180+ bhp when I finally sold it.
Sniff.
I'm currently on a set of AD08s, on the road there's not much between them and a good set of premium tyres (I was running Michelin PE2 beforehand) as ultimate grip levels are soooooo high for both, and if you regularly drive at/beyond the grip available from a set of PE2s, you want locking up...

But your argument itself holds little water, does it not?
Stretched beyond what's meant for them, extra load/heat from extreme camber...surely you'd want something that you know isn't going to randomly decide one day to spit you off the road?
I understand the bigger wheels are not fitted to upgrade performance as such, but surely on a 1,500 kg 250 bhp car, you should have at least some grip?
If not, seems kind of pointless having a 250 bhp car.
This is what put me off when I had my Zetec-S V6. Used to waft everywhere in absolute comfort, but never really properly got hold of it and drove it. Couldn't afford to at the time. Shame as the chassis made it a real b-road weapon.
LOL, don't get me started on DFS. Anyone that pays even 50% of their alleged RRP is a bit stupid IMO.
Massively overpriced poor quality tat masked by continual discounting, interest free credit, buy now pay later, anything to keep you from seeing that you're paying far too much for far too little.
So True...I worked for a company that supplied soft toys to Tesco.
They ordered 20,000 pieces from us to sell at £10.00, and we had to ship 200 two months early so they could go in store at £20.00.
Then the other 19,800 were shipped and sold as "50% off!".
Half price, is never half price...
In the eyes of the law silence amounts to misrepresentation where insurance policies are concerned.
In other words, the fact you forgot to mention it is viewed as though you specifically lied or omitted the truth.
You have to pay it, you had full service from them, but didn't pay full price...
Nice.
I've fallen in and out of love with these many times.
Love the purity of the mid-engined driving experience, don't like the cost of consumables.
Is there a way to run these 'on the cheap' or does it have to be main dealer all the way?
In other words, could Mike at Rentech keep one tip...
What about admin charges on changing insurance?
And the fact that you tend to, after each acquisition, spend/modify/tweak to suit (thinking swirl flaps on the 320d etc.)?
Doesn't that negate the saving made through shrewd buying?
Paid £10k originally. Depreciation calculated at £5 per day so now worth £8,855.
200, 3 years old, just MOTd, brand new front hubs, 4 brand new tyres, standard throughout, and on 30k miles.
Is £8,855 for this ^^^^ a bit rich?
It's no effort at all. A simple Android app which makes it ultra easy to quickly enter anything I spend. Then I export it, import the raw data into Excel and out this comes.
I get a bit of a kick from doing it tbh...that's the accountant in me LOL
What I'm hoping is that as the miles pile on...
