On my AD08s I've done two trackdays (one blisteringly hot, one in monsoon conditions) and total mileage thus far is approx. 10k...with a couple thousand left in them.
At Llandow in the monsoon they dispersed all but the most severe lakes that ran across the track, delivered a surprising amount...
I agree, but I'm not talking about today, I'm talking about the future...ever more stringent emission requirements need technologies to deliver. When taxation moves to really penalise the driver of a fuel inefficient car, the difference between offering a manual v auto could mean a huge...
The main points I see are that they are more efficient...both for ultimate performance and fuel economy.
It's only a matter of time before legislation means manual 'boxes will be no more.
Having spent years working on heel/toe/double de-clutch that makes me sad.
Having spent years also...
My mileage versus cost data over several thousand miles for both Tesco 99 and 95 shows that the extra cost is more than offset by the extra mpg.
Engine unquestionably feels keener too, will tell for sure on the rolling road in a few weeks as the last run was on 95.
Not in my experience they don't.
Good bite from cold, low dust, stand up to track abuse, reasonable price (if you're buying from G172). Will probably go for another set once my current ones are dead...and my mileage per annum is almost exactly 99% road and 1% track.
As Chip says...standard?
My 172 Cup went from brand spanking new to 125k+ miles including a multitude of trackdays on one clutch. If you ride it or abuse it then upgrade but if not, I'd say upgrading is wholly unnecessary.
Any half decent PMR446 type radio will do just fine. I've got a couple of expensive Alinco ones from my Airsoft days along with some really really cheap Binatone ones, bought via eBay, £22 for a set of four with a desktop charger.
The Binatone ones get use far more, capable and pretty much...
From the zombies menu select public match/whatever, then, it'll give you a second option to select the 'world' before you then get to select the map itself.
Nuketown's in the new world option.
It won't.
The weight savings are comparable if you look at a 5-door mk3 versus the 5-door mk4.
The 200 is changing from a 3-door to 5-door though, so weight wise will be lighter from the technology, but heavier from the extra doors...so pretty much the same.
I think the days of 'bespoke' for what is meant/needs to be a mainstream car have long gone Chris.
As for the 'box...Renaultsport missed the boat with the current gen...a wheezy 2.0 NA when almost all others in its class are running forced induction.
I think they're simply trying to predict...
I want to plan my year. If I'm coming to this, I need to block those dates out.
Where the venue is is key in my decision to go or not...as Chip says, it's a pain in the arse!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where is it Mark?????
Then that is the responsibility of the other vehicle owner to sort out. On track, you have no liability for damage to other people's cars, regardless of how it's caused. It's up to the individual to insure their own vehicle against unforeseen damage.
The OP's excess will likely be more than his...
Anyone have any idea of what the CO2 rating is for the RS? Would be interesting to see how it stacks up against the competition that run manual 'boxes to see if there's any benefit there.
^^^ always be in the right gear at the right time.
Also allows you to moderate your speed better using just the throttle as engine braking is more pronounced.
Before I did the IAM I always used to go for the highest gear possible thinking it was the most economical...I was so far off the mark...
Surely some of the reasoning behind it is to do with efficiency?
Can't modern DSG 'boxes accelerate quicker than the equivalent manual and also return better MPG?
If so, eventually ALL cars are likely to come with them, just the same as how turbo engines are now replacing NA.
A bullet leaving the barrel of a S&W M29 .44 magnum has 1,267 ft lbs of energy to do damage with.
A 1,000 kg car traveling at 65 mph has 283,000 ft lbs of energy.
Go careful.
Re: Clio 4RS prices released...
Answered this myself - circa £1,500 including VAT.
So take that away from £21k for a more comparable price to the outgoing model and/or its rivals.
Re: Clio 4RS prices released...
My thoughts exactly.
As a comparison how much do VW charge for adding a DSG 'box to one of their cars over the manual version?
No need though. They're functional and work well enough.
If they had changed all those little items like everyone wants them to have done, it would probably add another £1k to the list price.
Considering how irrelevant a door mirror switch is to the whole ownership and driving experience I'm...
I think that's a pretty good attempt. I reckon 95% of people that drove past would think it's genuine...at least until it accelerated than the noise would give it away.
