Im not sure if you are on here or not, but as I see you pretty much every morning going through Tewkesbury, I wondered who you are. :)
The car is a black 182 with grey racing stripes, and I see you in the morning at just before 8am, usually as you are near the water treatment works.
Im usually...
I used it for the first time last week on the 182. Ive never used wax before, but it certainly seems to be doing what waxes do!!
Very impressed, and all the kit that comes with it is really handy too!
I think it'll be a while before I polish the 182 again. I did a full detail the other week, so it wont need doing again for a while. Plus Im getting tired of cleaning a car, then using it once, and it looking crap again! Damn crappy weather!
Yeh, I can certainly appreciate that now! I dont think it will make a significant improvement on my 182, as there are no major swirls on that, but I will still look forward to seeing the results!
Thanks!
Time wise, I probably spent about 30mins on each panel, so thats per door, bonnet etc. But they were split into smaller sections.
To start with I put a big X on the pad to 'prime' it. And each time after that I only used a couple of pea sized blobs, sometimes a little more for the...
I know how you feel, especially with black paint!
I was worried at first, but as I was using a final finish polish, I wasnt really worried about destroying the paint lol!
I will be a bit worried if I ever use a more aggressive polish though!!
Yeh I wasnt sure how much the final finish would take off. I mainly bought final finish because my 182 has nowhere near that bad swirls!
Yeh I put two coats of EGP for protection :)
Yes I decided to bite the bullet and get a G220. Today was the first chance I got to play with it.
I decided to polish my Mums car, partly because I wanted to practice, so I would fuk my car up when I did that! But mainly because the condition of the paint on my Mums car is awful! There are...
I use AG glass polish, and it works fine. But I havent got any scratches, so I wouldnt know how it performs with regards to that.
I would have thought AG glass polish would remove any water marks etc on the glass!
I was thinking about doing that too. As my car is Arctic blue, I was wondering how the sticker would fit with the car.
It looks good though, but I would have probably put it on straight! :p
Wow, nice work for a first attempt! Its making me want to get one even more now!!
Ahhhh, I hate decisions!
Was it easy to do? How long did it take to do the whole car?
It is possible to hose your engine bay, I havent done it personally, but Ive heard of loads of people who have.
Just double check exactly what needs covering etc before you do it!!
I've not long finished my weekend car cleaning session!
I wont bother to post any pics, it would just be the usual clean car pics.
Most of the very minor swirls have gone, and there's still some left, but nothing I cant live with tbh!
So I really dont see the need for a DA machine!
I applied...
That seems a bit pricey, considering the Kestrel on its own costs £65
(http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polishing-machine/kestrel-sim180-rotary-polisher/prod_523.html)
But then, I havent added up all the bits it comes with. So it might be about right!
But just a small collection can make such a big difference.
For instance, I washed my car and my mums. Mines now in the garage ready for all the extra stuff tomorrow.
But my mums car had really bad swirls and light scratches over it. I said to her do you want me to quickly polish it, with the...
lol! Well Ive cleared the garage out ready, so after I wash my car its having its first full treatment. SRP, EGP, wax, interior, wheels....the lot :)
I clayed it a few weeks ago, so I doubt I need to redo that again.
But this weekend is going to be the decider for whether or not I buy a Megs...
As long as you keep it in a sealed container/bag then it should be fine.
Also, check its not covered with crap, as you wont want to reuse a dirty clay bar :)
Some more really basic questions!:
If, for example, I wax to do a full clean of my car, ie SRP, EGP and then a couple of layers of wax, how would I know when I need to redo this process?
Is it a simple case of the looks starting to deteriorate?
Also, how do I know that applying other...
