    D2X for £600 - should I?

Plenty will moan at this link, but have a read and see what you think. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d2x.htm Personally, I wouldn't. The D300 is availabile for that sort of money. Not sure of your experience, but that is a pro level camera and may completely baffle a beginner. It is also...

    Winscreen washer pump

Usually under the bottle. Can you not have a feel? Will have thin pipes coming out of it.

    stripes on or off.....opinion needed.

Personally, I think if you do either of those things, you will make the car look worse.

    Changing the tweeters?

Not sure if ph1 or ph2 so: http://www.cliosport.net/content/guides/fubar/ph1_dashboard.pdf http://www.cliosport.net/content/guides/fubar/ph2_dashboard.pdf Crossovers seem to be fitted in the doors in most cases, but I think that requires you to run new cabels to the tweets. Seem like a lot of...

    Hit a pheasant

It is buddy, thanks. I will have a better look under the car tomorrow. There was a massive bang after I hit the bird but I assume that was the light hitting the bottom of the car. The bird was knocked into the path of an oncoming car, so he may of sustained even worse damaged as the stupid thing...

    Variable ND filter

Anybody used one of these: http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=111258&PHPSESSID=fp4k7gjipnot6ip3c9ji9598q1 Is there any point having a variable ND filter, or would it be used fully dark all the time?

    Your Favourite Motorsport Photo

I've used a monopod a few times, with larger teles, 400mm and the like. Ususally this is at larger circuits like F1 venues where you are further from the track side. At smaller circuits I hand hold. To be honest, the pod is more of a weight saving thing round the neck than a steadyness thing.

    Hit a pheasant

Just hit a pheasant that stupidly wondered out into the road. Was doing about 70 but braked to about 60, looked in rear view to see my off side fog light bouncing down the road. That seams to be the only damage, but it's taken the surround with and in doing so, ripped open the holes in the...

    Old people driving Clio sports

I remember reading about an old dear who had bought the top of the range (as implied above) Metro (MG Turbo). She took it back to the dealers as she said, "when the revometer (sic) gets to 12 o'clock, the car starts whistling and the accelerator peddle get stuck. Can you have a look please."

What do you keep in your car?

Nothing. Ice? AA card. Breakdown? AA card. Hate crap in my car - I even take car park tickets out when I get home and put them straight in the bin.

    Silly high idle

I'm sure it's sorted one way or another as its 8 months old.

    Fitting Eibach Springs

LOL good for you! It's not even remotley like a nightmare job. It's car mechanic 101. Let him do the job if you will, but let it be know that it shouldn't take long and if so, please don't atempt it!!!!!
  25. Xanda73

    Fitting Eibach Springs

Steady on! This is a car forum, not a dating site. Seriously, if a mechanic rubs his beard at this, then he's not really a mechanic but a cowboy. Avoid. :)
  26. Xanda73

    Fitting Eibach Springs

Changing springs will be bread and butter to a proper mechanic. He'll throw you printoff in the bin and do it his own way. I'm trying desperatley not to sound condsending or sexist, but I wouldn't take my car to a garage like this for a number of reasons. Jesus, I'd do it for free if the other...

    Fitting Eibach Springs

b****cks to being 'just' a woman; you're 'just' a car owner, and he's ripping you off by the sounds of it. Some others will be along shortly who will promiss to help you if you post some pics of 'just' your body, but they're about as trustworthy as your garage 'friend'.
  29. Xanda73

    Fitting Eibach Springs

He's taking the piss, completely. Please don't let him charge you on time, and then take ages. Really should only be an hour or so for a garage with all the gear. Took me a couple of hours on my own, having never have done it before, with basic tools. Had the rears done in 10 or 15 minutes, but...

    clio meets astra!

You've not improved on the original looks at all, IMHO. Not my cup of tea TBH, but if it makes you happy then go with it, but be aware that people will form an opinion of you that may not be favourable, based on seeing your car. Whether that means anything to you or not = chav or not.
