That's a nice car (if you're not into driving IMO).
Doesn't look right, that's all been said already.
Sadly, you've let the 'OMG look I've got a E60 (or whatever the f**k it is) BMW so you should all envy me' ego inflation go too far and been caught out. Thanks for the LOLs.
Enjoy wafting about!
I so love the "F*CK YOU!" attitude of this car's styling. I bet the other RS owners cringed when you put that next to theirs at the show LOL.
Good work Mr R.
4k miles per year from new? No thanks, has likely had a life of cold running.
Hope it works out for you though.
Have you got cambelt change evidence from 2010?
I modified my 172 Cup to make it faster around a track. Then I realised doing that was a complete waste of time. Car became less fun to own.
I've learned my lesson, the 200's staying 100% standard.
At worst you'd have to remove it for each MOT. If you're just buying the basic vinyl strip wouldn't cost much more than £10 each time for a new one.
There's no law on sun visors so not having them fitted is no problem.
As said before though, drive like a prat or go anywhere near a McDs and the...
I personally went as deep as I could as I had my arse on the floor of the car, came down the windscreen almost half way.
I ran opaque ones, started with yellow, then orange, then white, then decided to go for matt black so it wasn't so noticeable.
Sunstrip is your friend.
You just have to accept that the 5-0 may take an interest in you, and you'll likely have to strip it off at each MOT.
I couldn't find any other way around it myself. Never got pulled either.
Would be a failure, it's interfering with the swept area so would fail an MOT.
Would be an interesting roadside stop if the 5-0 insisted you remove it meaning you'd end up driving direct into bright sunlight.
I always worked on the basis that if I was stopped there'd be some understanding...
General consensus on here I think you'll find will be that your car with a few stone chips will look approximately 1,000,000 times better than it will with a bonnet bra.
Burn it I say.
Will fit fine.
Did this to my 172 Cup at 107k miles and ran it to 120k before I sold it without issue.
As above though, you'll lose all speed readings and trip calculations etc.
Not sad (coming from someone who records not just every tank, but every penny spent!) at all.
My 200 is now just about on 26k miles, 8k of that since I owned it, and under my ownership, including one track day, I've averaged 33.6 mpg.
Trip computers in the 200s are the opposite to the 172/182s...
I'd advise caution.
The MkII jacks had/have a slot/recess in the top for the jacking point rail to sit into.
On the MkIIIs, it's the opposite way around, there's a recess at each corner beneath the sill, and the top of the jack seats into that.
So using a MkII to jack up a MkIII would give...
All depends on how deep your pockets are.
Easily tuneable these French pocket rockets are not.
To get a genuine 200bhp you're looking realistically at cams and ITBs, so budget around about £3k - £5k.
Fairly hard sidewalls? Sure you were running T1-Rs?
The sets I ran on my Cup were as soft as any tyre I've ever tried, hard on the brakes in a straight line on track and the car would be moving about all over the place.
Had some loose T1-Rs in the shed for a while, and I can say with certainty...
Ooh, ouch, such a shame, wrong place at the wrong time.
Fantastic pics beforehand though. Got to admit seeing the blue 172 Cup racing makes me a bit emotional LOL.
Weighed a wheel from my 172 Cup and it was 17-18 kgs from memory.
As for weights, I think the 'published' figures from Renault are;
Phase 1 = 1,035 kgs.
172 Cup = 1,021 kgs.
Have you adjusted the intermittent setting to the quickest of the 4 (or 5) settings it has?
Or does it not even wipe the screen once when you turn them on?
