This is what motivates me on track, not to be fast, but to get the maximum out of the car with minimum effort and wear. For that smoothness is everything and watching Llandow footage with these overlays I realise I'm nowhere near as smooth as I thought I was, or more importantly, as I could be...
The benefits of the datalogger are HUGE, wish I'd done this when I had my 172 Cup.
The 'G'-force trace and throttle bar have made me realise I have some bad habits that need fixing; lack of consistency on the brakes, not managing smoothly enough the transition from braking to steering when...
So true.
I overtook a MP4-12C on the way home tonight, on a 12-plate it was either lost while looking for Goodwood, being run in, or both.
35-45 mph in a NSL 60 mph zone on a sunny day with dry roads and clear visibility is not acceptable, get out of my f***ing way. Grrrr.
What he said ^^^
Your car with a few stonechips on the front, will look exactly one million times better that if you attempt to cover them up with an illfitting gimp suit.
I do, routinely. It's either punch past 3 or 4 dawdlers and creep over the limit while doing so, or sit behind them, on single lane B roads, doing 35-45 mph, for 26 miles?
Nah.
Yup, capturing at 120fps gives you lots of options, but being WVGA only the resolution at that speed isn't that great.
Can also get 720 at 60fps so that'll run at x0.5 without issue, then there's 960 at 48fps as well which should also do x0.5 OK.
Not just control it, you're supposed to be able to view the footage real time as well!
2.5 hours comfortably from mine running at the full 1080-30fps. Plus they're rechargeable from a mini b usb so just about any powered car accessory will have a lead you can use to top it up.

Yep, was Jay running in the afternoon.
As for the camera position, watch the clip right until the end, you'll see why its position/view was a little compromised.
I got one recently, used it a lot at the Llandow trackday.
I recommend running an external mic for it, apart from that, I can't really find any fault.
There's a few clips from it on my YouTube page... www.youtube.com/markcup70
A slightly different perspective for this one, had camera pointing at the bus stop and left it there for about 10 minutes so got everyone flying by lap after lap.
Yup, in reality there's pretty much a fag paper's difference in pace between ALL standard Clio Renaultsports, but some drivers are happier than others braking deeper, later, and hanging their arses out which on a circuit like Llandow is enough to make a sizeable difference.
Both Ollie (172 Cup)...
Here's mine since I got it six months ago...
Needs updating as have been to Llandow since I did this, will be well over £4.5k now for the 6 months
Right, in glorious HD here's the usable in-car footage I caught of others, sound in the early clips is crap as I forgot to plug my external mic in, quite a few of you feature in this...
I'm still struggling to grasp that I actually saw someone having a telephone conversation while in a circuit safety briefing.
If I hadn't been there, I'd have said you were all making it up LOL
Jay, you scared me.
