You really need to get a ride (ideally a drive) in a car with the suspension options you're looking at. It is, at the end of the day a very personal thing.
Re. R888's, imo they are not more fun than any decent road tyre. Trade of for the extra grip is less throttle adjustability (brilliant with...
Fair enough, but I can only go on what I've driven, no? And I go by past history when considering these things. Am I going to put a grand (minimum) in a company that has conducted themselves in this way before? The setup was only one aspect, the broken adjuster collars, and seized damping...
I'll give my opinion based on what I have owned. Thankfully bigger firms (KW, Bilstein, H&R) don't use paying customers to refine a poorly developed product. Or wait for known weaknesses to break, rather than contacting customers before the breakages occur.
I've had the decency not to question...
KW's then. Massively, hugely better than the AST's I had. The AST's were hugely firm, no roll. So although it initially felt good, once on track it understeered. On the road, the ride was terrible (even on the softest setting). They tend to me most fun (ie adjustable and tail happy) with a soft...
Bear in mind you don't definitely have cup suspension, I've seen a few non-cup pack cars running around with the anthracite wheels. Only way to be sure is to measure the hub bolt spacing.
Get rid of the stripes, aero thingy black, ditto mirrors and side grills. You'll then have the best looking Gordini in the country.
Ps. Heard you were at BTM, like my new car;)
Ferry every time. After a few hours drive down to dover, followed by a few more hours driving in France, the break on a ferry is nice. Sit down, have some food, a bit of shut eye. Sack sitting in a metal toob.
2118's are f**king shite, c**t sheep wheel.
"I've just a great idea. Lets add some f**king unsprung weight to my pretend-track car"
Dave's got the right idea. Apart from the tyres. The tyres are s**t.
The recaro's are ace. On a 182 it's a no-brainer, as the standard driving position is woeful. On the 200, the standard seats are very supportive, even for track use. So the Recaro's are a luxury. An £800 luxury that wears through on the bolsters.
If they were the same finish as Trophy...
