The issue here isnt the mileage, its the fact its overpriced. Any car will last if looked after properly.

Yes, but he has R888's. The QE2 would go around corners well on them ... Russ hits the nail on the head, with tuning it could be epic, but as standard, whilst its a fantastic day to day car, its not a particularly impressive hot hatch. The saxo on the other hand, well :race::D

Exactly that, although personally i still found myself doing 20 minute sessions to avoid overheating/breaking the car/getting too confident ...

He's an old fart like me, so insurance for either is about £350 ... I think i need to try a Trophy, as i've had a 182 & a 172 Cup, then ill be able to advise correctly, & get to have a blat about on something else fun & french ;)

Id recommend buying some Goodridge lines as well & flushing it through with Castrol Response Super Dot 4. Very good front set up for day to day/light track use imho ...

Personally, i think no. 2 as well .... but again, with something slightly lighter than 2118's, shame turinis are so common lol - would be perfect ;) Trophy certainly wouldnt hold its value any better than a normal one at 100k miles in 2 years time! And theres the cost of rebuilding the dampers...

Vts has induction, manifold & exhaust, obviously a fair bit of stripping as well lol ... was mightily impressed with the twingo actually, much faster than i expected! How did it compare to the 1*2's?

Awesome, i was starting to worry that there might be another sexo swarming around on the summer trackdays ;) Re: tyres, i've got Eagle F1's & they seem to offer some fairly impressive grip. The side walls do seem to wear fairly quickly on track though ... Airbox & wheels look ace btw :D

Parkers is all theoretical/manufacturers figures. Id say the vts is probably better, but the 172 is a very economical car to run.

Llandow = f*cking epic. Well, its safe to say that the car is an absolute riot!! Much faster than i could ever have expected & the handling/brakes are just sublime, soo much grip & simply no brake fade whatsoever. No matter what i (& the rain) could chuck at it. Bloody brilliant fun...
