Nothing wrong with cutting springs, as long as they arent cut too much so they can dislocate , and the ends are reformed to original spec, done it several times when money has been short and im still around. Removing a coil or so will make the spring slightly stiffer anyway and you may make...
Surely you could just have a power supply with ( forget the technical name) like a light switch that dims, this would give the adjustability, did this when i fitted corsa eps to my mk1 golf.
Really no one should come on here and ask what they should be doing to their car, look at the projects and copy the ideas that appeal, mod the car to please yourself cause you,ll never please every one else.
fitted a new set 2 years ago to replace the too harsh apex, found the g max too harsh for me, currently running (afaik) standard springs, which suit me better.
As everyone knows the front wheels on phase 1 172 sit too far in and looks stupid. I dont want to fit spacers or low et wheels, any special suspension parts available, anyone know something i dont? im thinking one of wider ball joints, drive shafts and tca,s.

Does anyone know if the phase 1 smaller engined non 172 sports were available in the same red as the phase 1 172,s.? Seen several red ones but nothing the same. thank you.
My first phase 1 172 would easily rev round to 7,000 ish with a definite kick at 5,500 ish ( 105,000 miles) My latest just does not want to go over 6,000 with no kick (less than 60,000 miles) , apart from this it ticks over and runs lovely. The previous owner mentioned rs tuner, im not 100 %...
Ive cut springs down before, not on the clio, obviously if too many coils are cut the springs will dislocate as will a professionally bought spring if its too short. The ends also need reforming to look like they did before which requires heat.im not reccomending it but ive seen worse things.
