The low priced sellers will be grey imports from Hong Kong etc. Read up on what that means and see if it's worth it for the saving. I bought my Canon 7D from DigitalRev in HK, which saved me about £350. That's a second camera though so if I need to send it back overseas for any reason I have my...
Love the Landy shots! Pleased with the 50 1.2?

One of only 50 in this colour, so quite a rare bit of kit. Totally standard apart from not having A048s on the rear.

As mentioned that's a combination of a dull day and flat paint on the car. I also used a polariser on the camera which reduces reflections. The originals have less contrast so look even less shiny.
Client's car, client's plate, client's money so had to be in the shots. I guess I could have...
I can, and do shoot stuff with very little or no processing, there's thousands of my shots on http://www.fiestaturbo.com which are like that.
With one car, a nice location and some time I like to push things in post a little bit, for various reasons but in this case mainly because we had the...
Shot this Exige the other day, quite a photogenic car!

I'm still not sure I completely understand but this is apparently not the case: http://www.have-camera-will-travel.com/field_reports/full_frame_vs_crop_sensor_-.html
Plus more and a video here: http://petapixel.com/2014/03/28/concise-explanation-crop-factor-affects-focal-length-aperture/
I've got it on my 5D3, mainly for raw video which looks amazing. It's a bit nerve wracking to install but went ok.
Remind me to give you a demo next time we see each other!
Landscape shots on an overcast day are about the least technically challenging subject for a phone (or any cheap) camera. The set focal length and aperture are pretty much what you'd have a DSLR set to, and the light isn't a problem so that negates any high ISO advantage.
When it comes to...
Love it! Very creative, the American Beauty one too!
Here's my first shot of a Bride and Groom :p
Yes, it's the Groom's car. It'll make sense if you have a look here: http://www.fiestaturbo.com/shows-events/the-focus-wedding/
This was done with £1200 worth of wireless Speedlite flashes:
This was done with a £30 eBay LED video light, 120 LEDs so smaller than the one in your link:
This way is more labour intensive - you'll need to move the light around the car a bit at a time while the camera shutter is open...
Thanks for the comments guys! Much appreciated.
Photoshop sadly. This is the real reg of the car, I'm sure you can see why I changed it:
Technically it's fine, it just looks a bit boring so I didn't bother to do anything with it. There's a couple of others I might play around with if I get...
Cheers all!
@Knuckles, not lowered nope. Trick is to crouch down with the camera so the photos show it from a lower viewpoint to that which you normally see it in real life.
Knuckles had been dropping hints for a while that he wanted some snaps of his car so last Saturday at Oulton I took the opportunity to grab these.

I've made some tweaks (headlights on) and re-uploaded but it's broken the original post. Here's the new version:

Yeah, wasn't too bad though. The side window showed it worst so I tinted them to hide it a little.
Got the ones of yours to go up soon. Made a start on them yesterday.
Not on track, no.
I'd go for the 24-105 over the 17-40. For cars you really want 50mm minimum and as you have the fisheye, I can't see the wide end of the 17-40 being much different.
I use mine the most out of my lenses. The only one I would use more if I had it is the 24-70 2.8.
A bit of an impromptu photoshoot yesterday. Only got a couple of decent shots as we were a bit rushed for time.

Cornering shots look great! I did all mine at slow shutter to get wheel motion, but I think pin sharp with the motion conveyed by the car leaning with squirming tyres works better. Gonna try that next time.
Extender worked a treat. There's one for £175 on talkphotography at the mo. I just found...
Cheers Joe! I'm pretty happy with how the photos came out but I'm even happier to learn that my car popped a flame! Didn't think it would do that with the sports cat on. :D
