focal ftw! got these in mine, i admit they cant handle much bass but hey thats for the sub to deal with but are highly sensitive and reproduce music extremely sharp and clear :)
having a small mid cornwall owners meet next Wednesday in truro around half 7, in currys/staples car park and then taking it from there so far its me, paul, jordan and matt so pop ur name down if u fanc coming along.
cheers
well taking the top of the dash off does make it a little easier to fit the tweeters and get the wire down through to the cross over and as of the speakers just take the door cards of file away some of the plastic so there room for the bigger speakers and then make some mdf baffles (circles) to...
go for components up front for sure! as lyons said above upgrading the size is better and means more volume and big frequency range and the baffles means that mid bass is tighter and more rigid.
hertz or focal components hertz are around 80 and focal 120 the hertz get good rates on here and focal are a good quality audio producer and put there 6.5inch component access speakers in mine and they sound crisp on the highs and tight on the mid bass
yea all installed running the focal access 6.5inch components. sounds good crisp and mid bass sounds really good only thing now is that i need a decent sub to finish the overall sound. good little amp and powers the speakers well. saves the hassle of extra wiring and finding somewhere to put an...
i recently installed some focal access components, you can go direct replacement on the door speakers 5.25inch or if you want you can file away some of the plastic and fit 6.5inch. iv had mdf baffles put in which makes a big difference especially on mid bass. the focals are around 120 or hertz...
well cheers mate im into my audio and home audio as well as car and im always ears to learning new things, from what i was reading the other day most 'good' subs when rated on watts have a small area of rms to run between at for example a jl sub may have a rated rms of 150-200 rms and that is...
i would deff go separate to be frankly honest pre powered subs 90% of the time are crap the amps are usually underpowered for the sub although they say there matched for the sub. i was looking at mtx the other day and also jl audio, focal or rockford fosgate. what sort of power rating is the jl...
i do want a sub but gota pay for a new windscreen n belts service done atm so cnt rle aford it, front are amplified with a ktp mini amp there rare litle things but puts it to 45 watts rms per channel.
okay mate, iv been hearing alot recently about hertz sub being good? whats ur thoughts? any other subs ud recommend was looking at only a 10 inch dont wont masses of bass and im not the kinda person that goes around with my music blairing but when im in the mood i like to have deep thumping bass...
okay buddy, any suggestions on how to get even more volume/sound/bass without a sub? im not put crappy 6x9s in it for the life of me. the chaviest mod possible and really does nothing for good sound
recently installed some focal components in the front with alpine mini amp to give a bit of a boost, i havnt got a sub and cant afford one atm but i want to replace the rear speakers as there crap and cant realy handle the power iv got running through them so its faded to the front. want some...
so gutted i missed out on this one! will be at the next one no question of a dout even if my boss does stick me into work when iv booked the day off grrrr
well i do apologise although i got told under powering a sub will damage it by a guy who runs a audio centre and deals mainly will jl audio, orion, genisis and focal so i thought he would be right when he told me this although i questioned it by what you just said.
well be be pretty crap if its pouring down all day so if it does we could always bump it to the following sunday this being easter sunday if people dont have any plans
amp is way underpowered by no question of a doubt, and it wont do it any good, massivley under powering a sub will damage it, is the pioneer subb 3k watt max or constant/rms? if its rms ul need a seperate battery and split charging unit if its max and only like 1000watt rms u just need a much...
nope, weirdly a lot of insurance companies will now make the monthly payments over 10 months rather than 12 but it will still be 12 months cover mate. ina way gives you some time to save at the end for ur next deposit lol
mdf baffles are simply small mdf rings, curently your standard speakers are mounted on plastic behind the door grill, but being mounted to plastic means some of the power is just wasted vibrating the plastic. putting a mdf baffle/ ring in for the speaker to mount too will give a much stronger...
my advice too, best setup is forget rear speakers, spend extra money on front components and mounting them on some mdf and sound proofing around them, and then look at a sub
standard speakers will be around 15w rms at most the new components will sound much better but ul props have to take the dash off if you go for anything else than the pioneers coz ul have to wire in the crossover, the headunit will power them but getting a aftermarket headunit will power them a...
speaker size is 5.25inch on both front and rear doors, the pioneer components that are especially made for renault which are plug and play are around 80 quid i think and just get some half decent coaxials for the back 30-50 quid pioneer, alpine, hertz
