Just playing with using the hunter as it will all be new bits - My cheapskate nature has kicked in and its booked in for the 30 quidder.
Tie rod wrench just arrived so all set to go
@STEVE.M - Will do! Currently working out if I get Kiwk Fit to do the tracking on the Hunter for £68 or my usual local guy with his bits of string (he probs has a laser of some sort) for £30.. .
Got to love the guys @renaultpartsdirect - delivered in under 24 hours (22 to be precise) and at a great price too . May put up some pics of fitting up on Saturday but will probs be to cold to faff about with the camera
Aye and its causing me a headache finding one the will be delivered before the weekend. Got one that's 34 - 42mm that can be delivered by Friday but cant work out if its to big...
Cheers for clarifying @DrR - Think i would have remembered that after owning her for 10 years.
Yep all the job`s are easy enough, just need to get the bits ordered and in before Saturday
Re: track road end, ball joint - So its best to refresh the whole lot rather than just the ball joint?
Annual visit to the GP (MOT) has given me a couple of bits to do and I`m a bit short on time to do research due to work. Need to get this sorted, parts delivered by the weekend, so need to ask, as there are a squillion different posts:
Failed on - Track rod end ball joint (Ns) and rear shock...
Fortnite (BR) - Now that i'm good at it, it is incredibly fun! As a long time FPS player, the fun I have had playing this has been incredibly refreshing.
Horizon Zero Dawn comes in second for me.
If I had bought Wolfenstein 2 that would probably be in here as well but i didn`t so :tongueout...
Hammer a normal socket over them if you can. I used a impact driver in conjunction with the aforementioned. Worked a treat. What worked even better was the key I got from the scrappy though. .
Well like a nob I thought i was on the home straight and got carried away hammering the gearbox joint on and subsequently smashed it.. . . . Lets see how these J&R shafts hold up :)
I'm going to finish this tomorrow. What's this about a clip. There was one still on after i had knocked the outer cv joint off. Did I make a boo boo?
@Dr Jekyll it's all adding up mate. I had the boot laying around. Spent over £300 on parts and lube so far and consider that to be more than...
Ok so i have just done some more reading. Before I get the hammer out again...
So I read you cant get the outer CV off and instead take off the inner and slide the new boot down. Now looking at my shaft there seems to some obstructions in the way.....
So whats the correct way to do this...
Out of interest guys. When you say proper hot, the cars are generally left running when the tester goes about checking the car and it will be up to temp. Is that warm enough or should it be gunned a few times to get things cooking??
It was two years ago. I've been out the country and I'm just trying to get the little rascal up and running. Person who was supposed to be driving it every now and again, failed me, thus the flat.
Anyway, just got it off. Mate lent me an impact driver and with the collar still in place...
May take a trip to my local one. Have one nut removed so could see if they can match a key and then borrow it. Cars immobile because of the flat.
The rest of the statements about them being a pita, I whole heartedly agree with. Won't be replacing them once off!
I had found this place, but closed by the time I googled them. Will be phoning them tomorrow at 8:30 to find out costs. Loathed to pay to have them removed but may be my only option.
Everything I have had to hand to use as a 'punch' has been defeated by the collar. Bent and blunted. Will see...
