anyone have any idea which cams are best for 03 172 cup and best (cheapest!) place to buy. not worried about crap idle but want 200 horses when engine finished

odd cos i had rainsports on my cup and ripped them off a week later. sidewalls too hard, made it twitchy as hell

It had nothing to do with got oil not returning to the sump your highness it had more to do with a hot engine giving a false reading through oil or vapour still being in the dipstick tube. Hope that clears that up .

alot of engines only have one dowel, if the countersink isnt there it doesnt have one. i have fitted many cylinder heads with only one. obviously it goes in the blck tho ,lol

check it morning on a level surface, engine must be cold. should be level with top notch if renault

gears 2 did this to me twice. reached level 76 then was back to 1 following day, got to 45 then it reset me again, apparently there is a glitch in single player that resets it. so havent played single player since and am up to 76 again!!!

bugger.lol. i have the one to lock the camshafts at gear box end and one to lock crankshaft. do you no the part nos by any chance for the other two. my local renault garage not being over helpful!

can you buy the two camshaft locking tools anywhere apart from renault? decent ones that is not laser crap

humour on a sunday?lol. i have 2 sets of alloys i dont really like but thought would be cheaper to repair and use but im guessing will be 300 ish to repair and refurb so probaly better to chuck them. shame but there you go.lol

does any one no what constitutes a scrap alloy wheel . i have a set of 17 inch alloys which i ran a rock over in and damaged the rim ie an egg shaped bulge. most of the damage appears to be rim. i also have 17 ich alloy on my 172 which has a hairline crack running from the rim a couple of inchs...

usually caused when the whell cylinders leak inside the drum. its bad news, get it looked at

going off at a tangent slightly I rang yesterday to book in my grand scenic for its first 18000 mile service. was quoted 311 quid! was told it would need an engine flush and fuel additives. no wonder dealers all called stealers now. no wonder it has 3 years warranty. its so they can rip you off...
