hi, would anyone rent me the camshaft locking tools so i can replace my dephaser etc? i have the one to lock the camshaft ends at gearbox end but not the ones to lock pulleys in place. if anyone no s of anyone i would appreciate it if you let me no, i live in cornwall if it makes a difference...

dephaser! they have nasty habit of going just after cam belt done. mine is in drive waiting for me to get round to doing it. sounds like engine buggered but if you rev it over 4 grand it mostly goes. you will need to replace cam belt again but not pulleys if they were done last time

are these claimed power figures a bit optimistic? im after a cheapish(lol) solution to get 200 horses from my 172 cup but dont want to throw money at a lost cause!

you shouldnt retension a timing belt, it will shorten its life , replace it its not worth the risk.

yes cambelt and dephaser replaced if youre going to sell it. if youre keeping it then tensioners and idlers replaced too unless done recently. either way biggish labour bill!

dont live with it ,lol. my 172 sounds like the big ends are hanging off and all it is is the dephaser. get it done!
