Hi,
My insurance for the 182 is up for renewal in a few days - I'm with Greenlight at the moment. I would like to try a couple of track days this year so was wondering who's the best trackday friendly insurance company to get a renewal quote from? Who do you track day guys use?
Thanks,
Dave.
Mine was on DG04 UUW. I lived in Burntwood in Staffordshire when I sold it - I bought it from Lookers Renault in Chester where I think it was a pre-reg.
I've got a Ktec solid engine mount and polybushed dogbone both of which I fitted myself but I never got round to fitting the Ktec top gearbox mount (and it got lost in a house move). If it could be that I should probably think about buying one and getting it done.
I know, all in pursuit of rattle elimination. Well they sure stopped the exhaust moving at the back and removing the heat shield got rid of that rattling, but now it's just moved to the boot floor lol 🔨
These are the hangers I've got so I don't think I can drill them (they are properly solid):

Also I have no rear seats so it sounds even worse lol. Don't really want to add any more weight back in if I can help it.
Hi,
I've hot solid exhaust hangers on my 182 as the rubbers in the OEM hangers just destroy themselves after a couple of weeks (had two sets of OEM hangers on previously). I also have Ktech solid top mount and polyflex dogbone (not solid gearbox mount though) and when I engage the clutch and...
Hi Guys,
Fitted my Whiteline ARB last night and I'm a bit concerned I have over tightened the droplink nuts - can you have a look at my photos and see what you think please?
Thanks,
Dave.
Took the shafts off yesterday RHS one is two piece with a bearing roughly in the middle. ABS rings are 8mm.
I have ordered a pair of Shaftech replacements
I'm wanting to fit some bucket seats and possibly harnesses in my 182 but not sure what to go for. I've removed the rear seats already so not really any need for reclining seats. It will be mainly for fast road and maybe the odd track day. What would you guys recommend?
I've decided it's time to replace both my driveshafts (CV joints clicking).
Apparently the drivers side shaft could be one piece, or could be two piece (different part codes). Also there might be different width ABS rings (8mm or 15mm) - again different drive shaft part codes.
Is there a...
Just wanted to update the thread. I went to MG Auto Motorsports yesterday and had toe adjusted from 3 minutes toe out to 2 minutes toe in each side and the car is literally transformed - SO much better. Dave up there also recommended trying to get 1 degree of camber into the car for even...
Just wondering what else to bear in mind with regards to suspension geometry when lowering springs are fitted? My 182 has Eibach Sportlines - what happens to camber and toe when these are fitted compared to standard ride height? Do I need a way to adjust camber in combination with the lowering...
I want it to feel stable and planted on the road with plenty of feedback and feel through the steering wheel. To be honest it felt a lot better before I fitted the lowering springs and had the toe adjusted to suit on the hunter machine at quickfit - I can't understand whats gone wrong. I had a...
Hi,
I'm looking for recommendations for someone who knows how to setup the suspension geometry on a 182 with Eibach Sportline lowering springs. If it means a number of trial and error settings to get the car feeling how I want it then fine, I'm willing to pay for this. I've had it on a hunter...
The car drove straight with the original settings of minus 1 minute toe out - sounds like it might just be roundabouts like flebay said and nothing to worry about (i.e. should have left well alone)
