    Full fat 'toys'

Who said we are? I routinely lock my wheels in my Cup on track as I search out grip levels. On the road though, I tend to drive with my eyes open which is a far better way to be able to avoid incidents than relying upon ABS. The "Yeah, but what about when you get no warning and have to...

ROFLOL They are EXACTLY the same! The only difference is that in a FF they have a leather/alcantara cover instead of a mossa grey cloth one. Underneath that, they're identical apart from not having side-airbags.

How much downforce does a 460kgs Caterham generate? :rasp: The only thing that'll upset this car I think would be if the centre of gravity was too high...but with a carbon roof, glassfibre doors and plastic windows that's never going to be a problem. Surely its c of g would be be at...

    Another 1.8 16v cliosport conversion

LOL, lack of weight will only improve things...it might have less mass pushing down on each corner, but each tyre contact patch has correspondingly less work to do in controlling and changing the direction of the body. Win all round really - if it's set-up well, it will be almost unbeatable on...

They'd look like this (excuse the stickers LOL)...this is on standard suspension, but weighing 100+ kgs less than standard so it sits a little high. Tyres are 205/50/R15...

    8.2mpg when nailing the 182....

I managed a full tank at a shade over 11mpg on a full day at a very dry Goodwood once, so to see 8mpg, immediately after resetting the trip computer is bang on.

172 Cup doing 0-60 in about 5 secs?

No way is my car a 5 second car! If you watch the video properly and listen to it as well, you'll hear me start moving when the handbrake light goes out...which is at least 1 second before the speedo needle gets moving. Don't forget the speedo starts at 10mph...so if you watch the needle...

    172ff v rx-8 (231)

So, 2 seconds is pulled out by the Mazda over 2 miles! Have you any idea how close the Clio would be for the first mile, or how insignificant any difference on the road would be? They're heavy...based on the above but with the Clio at a correct 1,110 kgs, the power to weight is; Clio 155...

    Occasion track day setup?

As above, brakes and tyres are all you need. Less weight helps a lot though.
