It’s been done before. There’s a guy on here who was selling the panel and buttons for the cruise control. Do a search and I’m sure it’ll come up.

It wasn’t cheap to be fair. It was over £1k for the body shop to pull the boot floor out, then cut off the old crash bar, before welding in a new one, then spray it all to look decent. I got £1900 from the insurance company though.

I got rear-ended in my Clio a few years ago. It was written off but I bought it back. I had the boot floor pulled out and a new crash bar under the rear bumper. The bumper wasn’t damaged so that got re-used.
If it was a good’n, don’t let the insurance company have it.

They're not lacklustre to be fair. Like others seem to be saying, perhaps it's just the way they wear. I think I'll give the pads the once over and check that the sliders haven't gotten sticky.
Thanks for the tips peeps.
I don’t tend to brake late/hard, so the pads have loads of meat left on them. I’ll have a look at the sliders and see how it goes.

Had the 182 MOT’d the other day and one of the advisories was corrosion on the front discs.
The outboard side of them looks fine. Perfectly normal. However, the inboard side of the discs looks like the pads aren’t sweeping properly on the outer and inner edges of the discs.
I took a few pictures...
Changed the manifold to cat gasket and bolts, after the old ones broke free. A simple job in theory, but spent most of the time trying to saw off the old bolts, which had rusted on.

Replaced the windscreen washer pump after the old one made a lot of noise but pumped nothing. Followed the guide on here after finding a replacement on eBay for £5 ??
I have found that https://www.f1autocentres.co.uk have been really competitive for pricing. I’ve had the Goodyears and some Michelin CrossClimates from them, cheaper than anywhere else.

They’re an old pair of Sportrac 3s I found on eBay a couple of years ago. I ran them on my Focus and they were great. The Clio is a lot lighter and consequently, they’re more prone to understeer in the wet, but that said, they’re good, trustable tyres.

I’m running Goodyear Eagle AS2s, but only on the back of the Clio, so can’t say how good they are when pushed. They seem to stick the rear end to the road well enough.
They’ll go on the fronts when my old Vredesteins wear out, and I’ll run the Goodyears all round.

Just seen this thread. I’ll be there too. I got a site parking pass too, which I was a little surprised about, as I only applied for it at the beginning of the week. Let’s hope the rain stays away!
Had to replace my negative battery cable after the old one sheared off when I went to start the car the other day.
My attempt to bodge it to get to in to work that day didn’t work at all! lol

Not sure to be honest. He did put a UV coating on after to try and keep them fresh for as long as possible. He usually does smart repairs and pdr stuff.

The bonnet on my titanium silver 182 was rusting badly, so I found one on eBay but couldn’t find the right colour. In the end, I had to settle for a white one. I fitted it and although it wasn’t a terrible as I’d imagined, I couldn’t leave it like that. Anyway, it’s been in today to get wrapped...
I’ve been after having a replacement bonnet wrapped for a little while now, and I approached two companies around here:
KJ Wraps in Newbury - http://www.kjwraps.co.uk/
Car Customs in Basingstoke - https://www.car-customs.co.uk/
I went with Car Customs in the end as they were a little cheaper...
I’ve been after a replacement bonnet for ages. Finally found one on fleabay. Fitted it yesterday. Only issue is that it’s white and my Clio is titanium silver. Had a look at some wrapping samples today and it’s booked in for a carbon fibre bonnet wrap next month.

Well that’s not the recommendation in the instructions that come with the Evol dogbone. They recommend tightening by hand then something like a further 1/4 of a turn.

I’ve had my Evol dogbone on my 182 for about a year now. Initially, it was a bit more noisy at low revs, mostly when pulling away. However, that soon died down as everything settled in. Now I don’t notice it at all and it doesn’t make any annoying vibrations. Most importantly of all, the...
Did you ever sort this problem out? Mine fixed itself for a month or two, but now I’m back to how it was before, that being the steering wheel buttons doing the wrong things.
Looks good. I’m in a similar situation with my titanium silver 182. The bonnet is rusting and finding a replacement bonnet in the same colour is like looking for rocking horse poo. My only options are an eBay bonnet in a random colour, or a new one from Euro Car Parts. Either way, I think I’ll...
My engine dropped a valve on a track day. Ultimately it had a similar result - I needed a new engine. I picked up one on here from a 172 for £250 and had it fitted at Rentech for about £500, so way cheaper than a brand new engine.
