I was standing outside the Co-op shop in Guildford two days ago, just up from the train station. Monaco 172 with exhaust and CS sticker pulled up. I probably freaked you out because I was playing "Guess the owner" whilst looking into Co-op lol......my uneducated mate was looking for a...
20, 3 yrs NCB, garaged in lowest band area, £800 with Admiral
Out of interest, how does knowing someone in the industry mean you can get 4 years NCB? I could click "4 years no claims" on the online form the same as the next guy. I could probably get away with it...
Yeh saw that guide mate. Think I'm gonna go out and give it another more gentle bedding in session, remove th glaze and hopefully all will be well, pedal feel is definitely nicer with the braided lines :D
Drive the vehicle to a remote area and perform at least 30 brake applications of 3-second duration. Use light/medium deceleration with varying starting speeds. Leave at least ½ mile between each brake application.
Taken off the Brembo FAQ.
I do think your right about glazing them over, I...
Had the new DS2500s and Brembo HCs(and braided lines) on the car for about a hundred miles now. I've tried bedding in the rotors and pads as per instructions (25-30 runs @ 50% braking force for 4 seconds) but experienced enormous brake fade after run number 15 or so.
Since then I have had...
At the Kinson end of Castle lane, in slow moving traffic. The Clio V6 saw a gap in traffic and booted the crap out of it, sounded awesome (even with windows up, aircon on and radio!) and looked pretty damn fast.
Two or three cars behind was a black 182 with tinted rear windows and passenger. I...
Not alot of help I'm afraid but I looked extensively to do this (my dad has some very nice cars and he was almost willing to let me drive them on 3rd part occasionaly :D ) and I couldn't find a single one.
Most companies told me they had stopped it, even for over 21s! Those that hadn't had...
I'd had the engine mounts replaced on my car, it's a very different type of juddering and wouldn't cause the emissions light so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that!
I can'tthink of any way to test the coilpack other than to replace it. Take out the sparks and check for blackening. Inspect the...
Lol i seem to say this on a daily basis lately on here:
Exactly the same thing happened to me, to the letter. Low fuel, spluttering and juddering, limped to get petrol, sort of helped but juddering remained...emission light was on....sounded a bit *funny* on idle. Emissions light will continue...
Rubbish with my paint colour names but I think its Monaco blue.
Was a pretty brief meeting down Ringwood Highstreet trying to work our way around the damn parked cars but I'm sure I saw a Cliosport sticker on the back in my mirror....also a ring sticker? Had aftermarket exhaust, sounded cool...
Eurocar parts do a basic coil pack for around £30.....not horrendously expensive to test and works fine (my 182 ran perfectly fine with it)
Fail that, have a look at the spark plugs and check they are ok (not blackened) Again, eurocarparts do a universal plug that is about £5. It will run like...
Shame about the weather for your hols eh! Its not normaly like this down here ;)
I saw an Arctic blue on 04 plate several times around Ferndown (Bournemouth) today, don't suppose it was you?
I had a Leon Cupra R at 19...reasonable insurance too (although I do live in a low risk area). Sold mine last year for £9k so its within your budget and if you aready have a 182 the Cupra R should be simular!
Highly recommend the Cupra, if you want that turbo feel get it and you will not be...
headlights point away from the centre of the road in the UK as to not dazzle oncoming traffic......all when and good until you go to Europe and drive on the other side.
Forgot to put them on when I was in Belgium (i wasn't the one driving though!) and wondered why ever car coming my direction...
Had this in my 182 (minus the burning smell). I replaced the Coil pack, all 4 sparks and HT leads and its fine now. Was misfiring and virtually undrivable.
Get those parts checked or replaced.

Block A, Numero 5 on that diagram. Can't remember what colour it is but Im pretty sure it is indeed blue.
Not sure on the average price but since your in Portsmouth, K-tech is close and their prices always seem reasonable enough:

Ive always liked the idea of a stripped, small engined car. Quite a few around my University (Guildford) and I always have more respect for those cars than a lowered and tinted 1.2 16v. Atleast it hints that the driver appreciates the physics of driving fast.
As for resale....you better keep...
Think I agree with you actaully. Having owned 2 Peugeot 206s in my time (1.1LX and 1.4 16V Quicksilver) and now having a 182 I've got to say the peugeot had a nicer interior. Looks wise is personal opinion but perhaps the 182 edges it for me, bit more subtle.
Performance wise, my friend is a...
Bit of an old thread but did this fix the problem?
I ask cause I had exactly the same thing, went into K-tech for a full Cam belt kit and aux belt (only the belt though, not tensioner) the other day and voila, the noise has disappeared. Must have been cambelt/aux belt related so worth checking...
Had mine does at K-tech during Cam change, extra vibrations are definitely noticable and take some getting used but to be honest I quite like them, makes the car feel a bit beefier. Much less movement and smoother delivery.
You'll be laughing down the street with the handling on these things compared to the Vectra, I thought the Cupra R had stiff suspension and reasonable handling.....its like a limo compared to the 182 lol. First thing my gf's 2 year old godson said was "its a bit bumpy" ha!
Both cars will be a...
Seeing as I got my 182 two weeks ago and came from a simular style of car I wanted to know the same thing! All I can say is go and test drive one, go to a big main dealer and drive the first 182 they have, doesnt matter if its out of budget, just go to drive one and fob off the salesman if you...
Always wondered this. Roadside speed signs that flash up with your speed to warn you to slow down always read the exact same speed as the speedo, never what the sat nav says e.g car says 34mph, sign says 34mph sat nav says 29mph.
