Correct me if I'm wrong, with camber shims, e.g 5mm ones, they will push the top of the wheel out and pull it in at the same time, so to a certain degree the pull in will be counteracted
I'm only saying this because I can't afford to push the top out anymore and want to get maximum tuck...
haha i honestly hadnt thought about working it out mathematically
good old SohCahToa
and honestly, im not mathematically challenged, i have taken a maths A level and study physics too!
thanks for this chip
You had experience in fitting shims? if so, was it difficult, or is the difficulty...
Fitted a set of bbs off an old e30 bmer
offset is et24, so lower then usual, lowered the car since also, so much that i have taken chunks out of my tyres at the back, even after raising it a bit im having problems
was gonna get some camber on the back anyway, may as well sort it now before i...
Fairs
Try loads of primer and rough sandpaper to give it something to stick to
Or a spray adhesive to hold the vinyl down
Then seal the edges of the wrap to stop water getting in
Other than that I'm lost for ideas haha
They were taking up too much room ;)
And yeah I had a good look at them earlier, gonna see what I can do myself
When I sort it, I'll still prob get them rolled, just need a temporary solution for the min
plate light looks very nice, i bleached mine which lightened it a little, apparently a good sand down will lighten it up though, but wont look as good as that, hope theres an LED bulb in there :P
and the back is very low! looks sweet, do you not have any problem with rubbing or clearance with...
my boss today told me that i needed to lower the rear more as apparently it wasnt low enough :(
he also told me that he had a short peice of scaffold pole and that he would lend it to me to roll my rears, as a body shop quoted £75 per arch!
cheers man, and yeh i have grown out of love with them, ill see how they look when the rear is colour coded, my only problem is that red lights and orange paint do not look great together :/
may get some cheap tint spray and darken them a little, hides the inside a tad
and yeah lol theres...
thanks man, the wheels were cheap! £57 with great condition tyres, no idea how i got them so cheap, had to spend an extra 100 getting them bored out and the tyres on and off to fit on the machine
and nope lol, no spacers anywehre, the offset is 24, compared to the standard 35 ish on a clio tho
thanks man :)
and yeh i was gonna say mine were fucked with no adujusters, they scraped some tyre off just moving the car up my slanted drive :(
i had to put the locator and adjuster back in the rear spring :/
lol
as long as your careful and take your time, keep it warm and maleable, the paint should be fine, if not go jdm and put some duck tape round the edge of your wheel arch :P
Not sure how much of an affect of would have on cooling, plus most the case fans will be where the main components are, the front section
I see your point tho
Sad to see criticism here, I personally like what you've done, wouldn't have the guts myself, but it certainly stands out in the crowd!
Plus how are the colies bud?
I may do what you did, get a spare set and fix them up
And I know, I would love one, its just more money that I could be saving for university funds and stuff
Got a coursework deadline this week, so when that's all over and done with I'll get to work on handles, rear bumper insert, arch...
Do it! Haha
I don't think I'll even need to contemplate spacers, the wheels offset is much lower than before, some camber would
Look good, and would help with the clearance st the rear
Update..
Got the wheels on, slammed it, realised it was too low when it started grinding down my rears, raised it a tad and then fitted my fabia splitter
Will give the car a clean and get some decent photos tomorrow
Got a quick update
Got the wheels back and they fit lovely! Shame about the tyre profile tho :/ but the tyres are perfect so I can't justify getting new ones they need a clean now as the tyre guy was very messy and there are a few little scratches in the paint
Won't be needing spacers! And...
the best thing to use would be some silicone, like i used bathroom sealant, stops the water getting in
i had originally used tape like alex, but it got wet and they fell off haha
but the car is looking great alex, nice job with the interior, how hard was it to fit?
