The foam filter has been slit by the front panel due to where the previous owner cut the panel to fit the RS2. Ive relocated the battery and ECU so room isnt an issue for a bigger filter.
I have an almost new Apexi Power Intake IK from my old EVO, I may try that and see how it sounds.
Yes they squeal a touch, ive used them in both Ksport 8 pots and also the OEM Subaru 4 pots and do like them.
I'd say the best setup I've used is the OE brembos with PF discs and pads.
If they are the stock pads they will feel wooden, they have been known to fall apart like the Ksport pads....Get some DS2500's in there, well worth it.
Yes mate that's how it appears, but at least he has uprated the front brakes from the piss poor 2 pot sliders. Pushing a stock classic engine north of 350 is always a risk because of the weak rods, as for the gearbox, they have let go at a lot less!
That car is a ticking time bomb Ross if you were looking to use all that power. The bet would be, would if throw rod or a few gearbox cogs first.
Looks laggy to.
Its back up for sale for a very nice profit if he can get it....http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-sti/jdm-subaru-sti-v9-twin-scroll-dccdandwidetrack/1707674#
It was the classics that gave the Impreza the "chocolate pistons" name with pikey tuning where by people would just plumb in a cheap MBC and wind the boost up and the poor old engine would DET itself to destruction....Saying that, the rods in a classic engine is the weak link.
Many Newage 2.0 STI Imprezas running over 400 on stock internals and have done myself, there are also people pushing them over 500bhp.....Its a very strong engine so don't believe the myth they all have "chocolate pistons" as is the saying. The Newage STI also has a very strong gearbox in the...
No spec c but an incredibly cheap widetrack JDM blob.......Either someone will get a bargain or it will be snapped up by one the PH traders with a tidy profit in hand..
If someone is seriously looking for an Impreza to buy at present, I bet there is nothing currently for sale in the UK that can...
It is Dave, a Mk1 Escort......He's building it as a trackcar with a nice spec incuding fully forged 2.0, PPG straight cut box, his own rotated turbo setup with an SC46 turbo all controlled by an Alcatek ecu.....should see 400bhp-ish.
This isnt a cut'n'shut Escort shell welded on an Impreza...
Amen to that brother... ;)
I thought id post a couple of pics of a project my mate has been working on, can you guess the engine bay this scoob engine is sat in?
The STI bug was the last Impreza to use forged pistons as standard, Subaru used hypereutectic pistons in the Blob Sti's....Some regard the Bug S202 as one of the best Imprezas ever to leave the factory......as for 3k Blob WRX's, they are out there fella but to be fair, in stock form they are...
