I bought this in 2016 for £550 running and driving with an MOT on 114,500 miles.
After 8 years of ownership I’ve only done 3000 miles in it and pumped thousands of pounds into it 😂
It’s now just a full time track car:
Looks good David. We made some wee stands to sit the car on which gives you plenty space to slide under and adjust the track rods with the car still weighted and strings setup.
What are you using to measure camber? I need to get me a camber gauge!
What are the dates on V1 and V2 designs?
I purchased a kit in November 2020. Assuming these would be V2 and no need to upgrade the pins to the new design?
Ta
It actually felt pretty good certainly wasn’t struggling with turn in or mid corner grip but I probably wasn’t going quick enough for setup to be an issue! Lol
Want to get a few more track days under my belt to get used to the car and driving it quickly! Could be tempted in the future though...
Been a while since the last update but the cars had a few more bits and pieces done to it.
I bought a PRO-AM racing roll centre kit on a black Friday deal which I just fitted last week. Nice bit of kit and looks to be nicely machined and everything fitted together well. Took the opportunity to...
Me and Heez both used to own this!
Can confirm that it is a good wee motor and wasn’t abused or driven hard by either of us! Was just a road car when we had it!
Not really much to report. Progress has slowed now that I’m back to work.
Managed to get the foot plate painted, just need to get it bolted into the car and then apply some grip tape in the correct location.
Also got the roll cage in with a little help from the feline friend! Also got the...
Tapped it into the block. There is a small flat area just above the sump which is big enough to tap, thread and fit barb.
You can see it in this photo:
I bought the pre-made engine dynamics oil feed pipe for convenience and then made my own drain with just 2 threaded barbs, a length of hose and 2 clamps. The drain was less than £15 to do.
I’m sure you get a Cliosport.net discount on the engine dynamics page if you setup a registered account...
Changed my broken gearbox mount which has sorted my exhaust knock that I’ve had for ages.
Mount must have been broken for months [emoji51] whoops! Glad it’s sorted now though!
The hardest thing I found was making sure that everything fitted together correctly and that I was getting the right sized threads/fittings for stuff etc. A bit of research and searching and you’ll be sound [emoji1417]
I’ve had 2 turbo Clios.
The first one was a ClioTurbo build (before they went totally to s**t) on a T28 Chinese turbo. Never had any problems with it and is still in use having done 2 seasons of SLS at knockhill. It made 232BHP when mapped by Chris at EFI.
My new build I decided to go with a...
I’m in the same situation here and looking to paint the inside of my car that I just stripped.
I’ve got a compressor and a cheap suction spray gun. I’ve rattle canned a few things previously but never sprayed with a compressor.
I’m struggling to work out what I’m looking for. Not looking for...
I ordered the same coolant hoses. Make sure that your current hoses have 2 black ends that go into the heater matrix as mine had one black and 1 silver and you can’t remove the silver one so I had to find someone willing to butcher a set of hoses to send me just 1 black end!
You will also...
I may add I’m not condoning this! But it sounds and looks like the OP has their mind made up on installing the harnesses whatever it takes! Lol
Not sure why you wouldn’t just wait, save up and do it properly once rather than half arsed and have to do it twice [emoji848][emoji2373]
If your desperate to get harnesses in you might as well just get some eye bolts into the original seatbelt Mounts?
Then when you get a cage you can just take them out and mount the harnesses on the cage like you say?
Yea I was lucky as I had most of the stuff left over from doing my garage roof.
Probably would of cost me the same amount as the CM composite one if I had to buy all the required stuff.
Made my own fibreglass foot rest/tray.
Going to make a passenger side one as well then just need a bit of sanding and painting and a bit of grip tape then they are good to be fitted!
Decided to have a shot at making a fiberglass foot rest/tray.
I had pretty much everything left over from fiberglassing my garage roof so decided it was worth a shot!
First up was to make a mould out of MDF
Next up was to lay a couple layers of fiberglass into the mdf mould to form the...
