Mine came with a cage.
I just mounted it at the rear of the spare wheel well with a few of those self drilling screws. I’m doing to get some rubber strips to put between the cage and the body though because it’s earthed because of the earth strap so it’s slightly dangerous when swinging a...
Dull day today spent scraping 8.77KG’s of sound deadening out of the car.
Still need to work out how to remove the rest of the stickyness!
Also whilst I had the heat gun out I took a few minutes to remove the Renault sport badge...
Once lockdown is over I’m hoping to tidy up interior...
Good write up!
Have you got a part number for the remote cover? i also broke the clips on mine!
I don't have a standard stereo so it doesn't mater but would be good to tidy up the hole!
Well much like a lot of other folks I’m using this lockdown to get various bits and pieces done on the car.
First up was to install some aerocatches onto the bonnet. Not a particularly pleasant job but it went well none the less!
I also fitted some MTC coolant hoses which allowed me to move...
Great batteries.
I’ve got one in my car too. When I first received it I thought they’d forgotten to put the battery in the box!
I just keep mine plugged in and charging all the time as I find that the battery is flat within a few days if not.
Great thread! I’ve just read it from start to finish!
Your dedication to making things function well but also look well is very envy-able!
I wish I had the same dedication to making things look good!
Keep up the good work!
Few wee updates from the last few weeks.
Got the EPAS setup fitted. Seems ok from my initial few weeks driving about.
This weekend I fitted my new Targa steering wheel and lowered/adjusted the seat. Think I’m going to get a steering wheel spacer and also try and lower the column a little...
I'm Edinburgh so unlikely to see you about.
I'm probably about the same now. Its a very one sided relationship, its always the same. I give him money and he takes it. Never the other way round :(
I owned this for a bit after buying it off my mate who had it for a few years. Think this is the second time it’s been sold since I had it.
I sold it on about 116k and it was a complete car and fairly standard.
I sold it to a mechanic from Kirknewton, then I saw he was selling it. Must of...
Thanks Everyone. Not sure what's next after the EPAS. Probably just a 4 wheel alignment and enjoy it for a bit during the summer!
Some of them are quite sound I suppose... lol
I'm in Loanhead. TBH its hardly been driven so would be lucky to have seen me!
It might of been me! What about are...
Once the engine was back in and we had it running I got it booked in to make the trip from Edinburgh to EFI in Runcorn to get it mapped on the 29th May.
We had a few small issues with getting it to run right including a starting/immobiliser issue. We finally got it sorted and ended up taking it...
Sadly it was suffering from some rear sills being knackered. They were OK when I bought it, but sitting in my cold damp unit for a long while I think was the nail in the coffin. Anyways, cut out all 3 layers of the sill and welded in some new metal, didn't bother making it too pretty as its...
Think its time to start a project thread for my latest Clio project!
Leading on from my previous 182 that I sold to buy a house I ended up missing the Clio sport life and shortly after selling the bean I ended up buying this Flamer for £550. My original inferno project thread can be seen here...
Bump!
I need to know this also. I bought a second hand ecu/UCH etc... turns out it’s from a 182 not a 172 and as such I have no speedo(which I think I’ve worked out how to change in CLIP) but I also have traction control light on that I want to get off!
Can anyone tell me how to turn the...
Nice one cheers. I’ll pass this onto the guys I know with CLIP and see if they can get it changed.
Sweet - I’ll pass on the info and see if I can get it changed!
Thanks for the info. I’ll try and take it to the guys with CLIP that I know and see if the are able to change it for me!
I *think* it’s speedo sensor driven from the box and the 182 ecu would be ABS driven.
I get a P0500 fault and weirdly it throws the EML light on in the bottom corner of the dash! [emoji848]
Do you know where about in CLIP it would be changed?
Hello,
So I recently turbo'd my early 172.
I bought a second hand AEM FIC-6 which was sold with a ECU, UCH, key etc for a 172.
Turns out that the ECU is actually from a much later 182.
This has caused problems with the ESP and speedo.
I have the ESP light on constantly on the dash and I...
Turbo help!
Fitted all my turbo stuff including a second hand FIC 6 ecu. However when I went to crank it with the coil pack disconnected I wasn’t getting a fuel pump prime and it wasn’t cranking at all and the immobiliser light was staying on.
Did the wee onboard diagnostics and was getting...
Looks nice! I just got one of these as well!
I’m on the hunt for an exhaust as well as I think mine blowing a bit. Want to get an exhaust and a remap at the same time as it’s slightly “bland” just now!
This is such a good build! Keep up the good work.
Have you got any information on water feed and return for the turbo? Where did you take it from, what fittings, hose size etc did you use? And any pictures if you have!
Very nice build! What size intercooler pipework is that? 2.5”?
Do you know how many silicon 90’s and hard pipe 90’s you’ve used as I’m about to order an intercooler and pipework mine.
Help needed!
Got a 2002 Clio Dci 80 that has starting issues.
Cold start it turns over and fires but idles at about 500 really noisy with no throttle response at all for about 5 seconds and then kicks up to 750/800 rpm and idles fine. Sometimes it starts but stalls straight away - it's not...
5 years, 10 months and 11 days bruv!
Aye would be interesting, he said I can have a shot of it around KH if I'm there. Think that's probably a bad idea as it will make me buy it back!
Well, I have decided to sell the clio. It was a tough choice as I love that little car and have had 4 awesome years together. I took it down to its new owner last night who is going to get it out to Knockhill and Crail so finally use it for what it should be used for!
Here is a picture of it...
