I've had a very quick look at the brakes and they seem to be alright. Both wheels spin freely when in the air.
I've bought new wheel bearings/TRE/ball joints etc so will change all that and see what happens! Hopefully it sorts it because it feels HORRIBLE!
My DCI is pulling from side to side on braking/accelerating.
Some background on the car:
Bought for 300 quid with a broken gearbox. I have since replaced the gearbox so subframe and hubs etc have been dropped. I've checked and everything is tight yet I still have the car pulling all over the...
As above avoid the cheap ebay stuff it's so s**t! I got some decent vinyl from a local audio/tint/vinyl place. Was like £9 but it went on straight and easy which made it worth it!
Cheap ebay shite bubbles and not straight:
Decent stuff, no bubbles easy to apply:
Sorry I don't know the...
I know how you feel man! My coil pack came loose the other day and ever since I've had a cold start misfire. Cars in the unit just now as I just don't have time to look at it as I'm also trying to sort my daily dci80 out! Looking forward to getting the turbo going though. Considering I've just...
I'm in the process of getting a new downpipe made that's going to have a brace onto the block as I've cracked 3 of the big company down pipes right on the bend.
I'll let you know how I get on as the guy making them is going to make a jig to make more in future if the one he is making now is...
Would be good to get some more people opinions and experiences as I'm going to be getting my geo done this week and not really sure what toe to ask for!
Got the ride height sorted today. Took the adjusters out the back and wound the front up quite a bit as well and it's sitting much better now. Took it out for a quick test spin and they instantly feel much nicer than the Spax! It also put a massive smile on my face!
Also got the TRE's...
My coil pack came loose the other day and scared the s**t out of some pedestrians as it popped and banged it's way down the street! Haha
I've not really had that many problems mainly just small things like you! Although my engine is sounding very tappety just now so going to give it a service...
What a f**k about of a weekend! Was planning to do bilsteins, discs, pads, braided lines, bleed nipples, super blue fluid, track rod ends, ball joints, turbo down pipe and PMS stud kit.
Fitted my new bilsteins after my spax blew up, the rear really is high being stripped out so I'm going to...
Yea it is ridiculously fun when its working. More just for the fast that people don't expect it and the turbo flutter it makes is so addictive!
Don't really know much about the 225 engines to be fair.
They are team dynamic pro race 3 wheels. They are in need of a refurb as they are pretty...
To be fair not that much of the breaking stuff has been linked to the turbo. Snapping the dogbone bolt was my fault through s**t driving. The leaking diff seal is possibly due to the turbo but it's a 77,000 mile gearbox so it could just be coincidence. The knackered shocks are just unlucky and...
Thanks! I love it as well when it's working it always puts a smile on my face!
I can't remember exactly but think it was a guy called Andy something, can't remember his surname unfortunately!
Well it's been a while since I've updated this!
Long story short nothing has been happening apart from stuff breaking! But what do you expect from turbo'ing a car that's not designed to be turbo'd? Lol
So I bought the discs and pads and still haven't had time to fit them! As I was 7 days a...
Decatted Yozza is what I have and it sounds epic I think!
I had it decatted for a week pre turbo and hated how loud it was but its reasonable now with the turbo. Don't get me wrong, its still f**king loud but it's not horrendous!
I had to take the casing back off as I realised I missed a washer that has to go inside the casing! Doh!
Will hopefully get the casing back on again this week!
I had it like that for the best part of a year with no issues. It stopping my manifold hitting my subframe so clearly stopped engine movement which is what the OP is trying to do.
I would agree that Vibra's aren't that bad, but I know that some people complain about them a lot. Got them on my...
I would try changing the dogbone to a powerflex one and keeping the two standard engine mounts first before getting solid engine mounts.
You are likely to get more vibration through the car with solid engine mounts and if your in traffic this will probably be as annoying if not more annoying...
@barnesautos I think I'm making progress! I managed to get the casing back on and I'm able to push the selector through its full range on neutral. Does that sound about right?
Should I just tighten all the casing bolts then put 5th gear back on the top and it should be ok to put back into the car?
I managed to get one of those wee roller nubbins things so that's back where it should be.
I'm struggling to get the cover back on though. Any tips as to where/what order the selector/shafts need to go back together?
was hoping to get it back together tonight so I could get it back into the...
