started the more serious side of the body work today, cutting welding and replacing rusty panels.
it started slowly and seemed to stay that way but these things where never going to fly by especially making panels from scratch.
i hated the inner wings too many holes and uneven surfaces. so they...
that duct was exactly what i was planning to do wont bring in much air but itd help you could get some large pipe cut it in half cut the bonnet back at the back and bolt it to the bulkhead. to give the same kind of effect as the type r intake just scoop the air in.
did some more grinding sanding fileing back today, my ears are ringing i purchased a new grinder and enjoyed using it a little too much.
made a start on the underside of the arch. should be straight forward sorting the rust in these areas. finished it off with some etch primer again...
As my housemate was away on holiday it meant i couldn't flip the car over to continue with the underside so today on my day off i started on the engine bay, didn't get too long just a few hours but it was enough to find plenty of rust more filler and fiberglass :(

mine used to sit fine on my old s2 and again on my s1, i could find pics of the other 2 rallyes ive hasd with pugsports but im sure you get the picture.
Tbh I regret buying the car as a whole I should of got a mint shell and gone from there. I've pretty much replaced everything now it would of only of been a few hundred more spent.
yesterday i finally managed to get the middle part of the underside etch primered and then undersealed. 2 days of sanding grinding bleading and swearing just for 20 mins of the fun stuff painting.
still lots more to do.
and today the fancy stuff arrived my sytec filter with dash 6 fittings...
haha i thought when you said get the best out the engine you'll go stand alone and sell the ecu, plus even if you do choose to stick with oem management itd probably make sense to use a fresh ecu and sell the one with the map on it instead of wiping a map off and starting again.
and finally my swirl pot with dash 6 fittings and a dash 8 for the outlet to external fuel pump.
ive ordered the fueling set up so that should be here next week. spent about 530 all in madness.
i got the car on the spit yesterday, hard work getting it right but its up and on. i had to take the wheels off the front of the front stand and stick a couple slabs under the rear to level it out.
quite low to the ground. cleared some stones out so theres plenty of room now...
thanks for the pics mate thats a good idea. i think itll be fit when its on it just flexed a little when i tried putting it on myself. yeah it weights nothing lol it now rocks on the axle stands haha.
yesterday i went and picked another engine stand up went for the more expensive 550kg stand this time. maybe not my wisest choice as its slightly taller but i should be able to get round the problem.
i also picked some box section steel up and got the two bits bolted to the shell...
just done some adding up, the fuel system ill be putting in is going to cost around 500 quid so i guess ive got another 1500 to spend. i may just end my life soon
