Well I don't need to worry about depreciation on mine otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. What spec is your ateca though? What kit does it have on it?
I would like something like that but if the Mrs is driving it mostly and it's doing the school run 70% of the time it wouldnt be the right...
Like I said cars are bought for different reasons and purposes. I needed something new and reliable with a warranty as a family car. You bought a car as you have always wanted it as an investment.
No need to he nasty about it especially being a moderator. Should be setting an example...
And what about all the money you are spending to get the rough Sierra up to a decent condition? I beg to differ that your car won't cost you more money.. And you call me strange? 😂😂
Thanks Brookie. Cars are bought for different purposes. This was bought so we don't have any reliability worries hopefully and I don't need to worry about mots etc.
It may not be fancy but I think it should serve its purpose well. I like performance cars as much as every other car guy. But...
Haha yeah I guess so. But the cars couldn't really be any different and have been bought for completely different purposes 😂 I'll get some up later if everyone can contain their excitement 😂🤣😂🤣
Yeah and I would normally do that. But I wanted something relatively reliable and has a warranty and breakdown cover with it for the two years of owning it. Plus it's nice to have something new and not used or needing a bit of work.. I'd never buy it outright as the depreciation on them is...
Tbh I bought it as a family hack that I don't need to stress too much about and I know it won't be an event every time I drive it. But sometimes needs must and i think it suits the purposes of what u need it for just now...
How is a needing a new lease for the family with nothing to worry about for 2 years make me an oddball? You and Daniel seeing each other? 😂
When it's not broken down or rusting away.. I needed something that we didn't need to worry about for 2 years and is practical enough for the family. I...
I've just seen your new purchase Daniel. You've spent £16k on a clapped out old Sierra which I think is a complete waste of money... But like you said the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing 😂🤣
What would you suggest as a cheap new family car on a lease with this spec level and size for this sort of money a month?
It may not be everyone's cup of tea but for a new car with 12000 miles a year I think £185 a month is a bit of a bargain... At least you like the colour I suppose 😂
Starts at over £200 a month on that site with only 10k miles a year... Still cheaper than the price they are wanting now from the lease company I got it from..
Our current family car is getting on a bit so I decided that we needed something practical and relatively well equipped.
Got what I think was a great deal on a brand new Renault Kadjar 1.3 S edition in Flame Red. (one of my favourite colours especially in the sun.) It has a gold base coat under...
Thinking about selling the bmw as I'm now doing short stop start journeys and its not good for the diesel or its dpf as it doesn't get a chance to do a full regen.
So I'm looking at the following options (petrol so I don't need to worry about DPF's!)...
Need something that won't cost me a...
Thanks mate. The lights were only 150 quid and definitely freshen up the rear. The independent BMW garage owner liked them so much he asked me where I got them and has fitted them to his cars and advertised a fitting service for them.. Hopefully get my car back tomorrow but I'm just wondering...
Thanks mate. I was thinking about dpf removal and a remap but I've heard they are tightening up on this for mot's. Plus the owner of the garage said he used to do them a lot but he says that he got sick of the clouds of smoke off them after they were removed.
Bit of an update...
The dpf warning light came on which is my fault... I have only been doing short stop start journeys recently and have been too busy to take the car for a good motorway blast. Maybe I should have bought the 330i instead!
Anyway luckily I got the car with a years warranty...
I dont really understand the trend to make the front grills black tbh... I think it cheapens the front and makes it look like a bog standard 4 cylinder bmw.
The chrome grills tell people in front of you that you have a six cylinder...
Nice car though. I've always liked these wheels...
Thanks mate I'm quite impressed with the rear lights for only 150 quid. One of the angel eye leds isnt as bright but I've been sent out a replacement set.
I live in Glasgow. I don't think the car was really looked after cosmetically before I bought it but it has been maintained well mechanically..
I think I may need to look at getting someone to try machine polishing the paintwork as there are loads of imperfections such as bird droppings that have damaged the paint, scratches and hazing all over the car.
I will also need to buy a clay bar as the paint feels really rough.
