My first car was a Citroen AX GT when I was 22 (15 yrs ago, gulp!) and it cost me £330 fully comp, which is obviously more in today's money, but nothing compared to what it costs today. Insane. I'd get the bus instead lol!
Wanted metallic blue but as I purchased a 182 cup I only had the choice of orange or solid blue. Went for solid blue and picked the car up on a dirty grey December day and it looked nothing like in the brochure, didn't particularly like it at the time but bloody love it now, 8 years on. RB is...
I keep getting calls from my local dealer. "How would you like to be one of the first people in the country to test drive the new Clio?". Er, no thanks! I actually like the look of them but won't be getting one. Bet you can't wait to collect it
Save your money and wait, simple. You wanted an R26 until the insurers said no, so why compromise and blow everything on something you don't really want and will probably end up regretting down the line
Kind of like that with my cup. It's eight years old, I've owned and garaged it from new and its now on 19k. Don't really use it but know I would regret selling it. If you have somewhere to keep it then I would as they're nice cars and its getting increasingly difficult to find original examples...
Agree, pretty sure at some point everything has been discussed. That is the whole point of the forum as people come and go. Paul, have you still got the 182 as recall you posting up about 200's recently?
You did the right thing, once things start going like that on a car there's no end to it. I had a car like that where I was throwing money at it each month and something else would break. Good luck to the new owner!
Avoid the cheap plastic one fits all types as, as you have mentioned, they will scuff your paintwork when the wind gets hold of them. Plus if you're taking it off all the time it may scuff the paint. Happened to mine, but easily polished out.
I'd try and sell private and be patient. At least yours (touch wood) should be trouble free given its age. Your monthly payments might be less with that 182 but probably not if you factor in the work needed on an older car.
Depends on your definition of good. Anywhere from £500 to £3k depending on a number of variables (service history, previous owners, paintwork, mileage etc etc). Have a nosey in the cars for sale section to see what others are going for
We have an 09 1.2 and that averages 38mpg with soft driving so can believe the 200s are as bad as everyone says. No recaros = cheaper (same) car with perfectly good seats, certainly wouldn't put me off and hardly 'poverty' spec. Mind you I drive a 182 cup which according to most people's...
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
I think this car is bloody lovely and miles nicer looking and more modern than the existing 200. Makes my 182 look prehistoric - still love it though and it's staying :)
Anyone have any ideas when they'll be available to order? Next summer? That Williams shop...
Its natural to worry about a high number of owners, but as mentioned above people get themselves into debt / fork out loads each month to own, run and insure these cars, and then get rid once the novelty wears off, hence they change hands quite frequently. Either that or the car has terminal...
