Just gone out and had another look. When the engine is turning over and trying to start the immobiliser light is flashing really quickly. If it is an immobilisor fault would the car even turn over? I'm going to try and get it to Renault tomorrow, i think, just need to work out how to get it there...

Does the crank sensor/TDC sensor sound like a plausible fault? i don't know how exactly the sensor effects the car, but if it was faulty would that explain why sometimes it has been starting first time and then other times not at all?

Tried both my keys and it's making no difference. The car still isn't starting. It will half start sometimes. I will put my foot on the accelerator when starting and it will start to fire, the revs will increase and then less than a second later it will die again. Tried the fuel cut off switch...

The immobiliser light is flashing when the car is trying to start.
