Loud wine/squeek from aux belt area??

Did a 350mile drive to london and back yesterday and today my car is making a wine from aux belt area, sounds abit like a supercharge wine, any ideas?? has the belt just come loose, will the car be safe to drive??

I have the same problem. I had it on my 172 too. Maybe pretensioner.

take the belt off and itl be that, coldness/damp = high squeel noise, .. mines currently doing it but wasnt 4 days ago. took belt off and it went.

Tighten the belt, More likely the cold weather.

Could try some belt dressing, Ive see some that say it reduces belt squeel, Dont know if it will work though.

probably needs a new aux tensioner/belt kit, tensioners seize up with rust eventually and stop auto tensioning

Well iam gunna do the aux belt at weekend, but could it be anything else like altanetor or summat, dont wanna spend 140 on aux belt kit and it ends up not bein that

Im having what sounds like a similar problem,a new aux belt was being fitted but not a full new kit,im guessing a new belt alone isnt likely to stop the noise?
