I'm wondering; what is the best aftermarket exhaust option for a 172?
For context I'm considering cams for which most people recommend requires a better flowing exhaust on a 172 but I'm super-OEM and fussy. I also don't like loud exhausts.
I've seen some examples of retro fitting a 182 cat to...
25k! That's a great find. I thought mine was low milage.
Tints off, new Renaultsport Mats, Subtle lows and that'll be incredibly mint.
Leave the Air intake as standard. You will barely hear it over the exhaust and the general consensus on the forum is that they loose you a bit of low end...
The box is needed for tuner list headunits - the one in the video you posted is for more modern headunits but the fitting process is exactly the same. Buy it and when you see it in person you'll see how obvious it is. It's a very reliable bit of kit. I've been using mine for 4 years now - best...
If your headunit says "Tuner List" on it you just need this

Plugs straight into the back of the standard stereo and then you just need to...
Welcome to Cliosport.
When I first posted gloating that I'd bough a mint, one owner, 28k mile old 172 i got two pages worth of "Was this the one that was in that rear end accident recently IIRC?" "Yes, It was written off IIRC"
My old 1.2 did exactly this and it was the "flywheel motion sensor". My girlfriend's started doing it too, replaced the "flywheel motion sensor" and that fixed hers as well.
I was a bit more of a noob back then so i just got a garage to look over it, took their word for it and let them fix it...
I saw one of these in the metal. The wheels are terrible, the alcantara interior option is lovely as is the satin silver bodywork.
I got chatting to the BMW rep who mentioned a few things.
- The carbon exhaust tips are a near £7k upgrade!
- The doors close themselves (smart-opener) if you do...
From my experiences with low clios it's one of these. Both sound horrible and resonate through the whole car. Both more likely to happen with a full car which it sounds like you had. The exhaust thing was caused by a sagging exhaust mount for me - £5 part fitted with one fairly easy to reach bolt.
Personally I wouldn't reference the Renault 5 badge for the turbo font - its too much of a retro statement if your going for subtle. Not 100% convinced on the 2.0t idea either as thats not how Renault refer to their turbo engined cars now or of a similar era to your clio (Renaultsport megane). I...
Offering £500 aka. 30% under the asking price on a car you have not seen is bound to be met with a similar lack of empathy as a response. Sure offer £11500 on a car listed for £12k but even at that meagre 3-4% discount as a seller I'd want an explanation or some justification. If he's...
What's the best way to achieve this. I know it's possible but have found very little information on it. There's no way I'm fitting pins or aero catches. Ideally I'm looking at the K-tec bodies with gen90 ECU.
I found this picture in this thread which looks very tidy:
You possibly need to replace the flywheel motion sensor. Caused almost these exact symptoms on both my misses' and my 1.2 16vs. It got to a point where neither of us could rely on our cars starting. We just hoped for the best when we turned the key. Replaced flywheel motion sensor and the...
I'm going to be that guy but I hate it. The sticker sheets is full of references to Japanese car culture, on a clio. It doesn't make sense. You might as well stick a BMW logo on there while you're at it.
I never have car envy. Every time a friend gets a nice car I appreciate it but I'm happy with my little 172. But this spate of "I just got a V6" is really making me lust after one. Why do they have to be so expensive!?
